I got the same thing...not multiple times, but notices that my feeds were down when they were not.

Things used to be so much more trouble free...

I also got one. Checked the computer and it appeared to be running normally. I restarted the computer anyways, and got a feed up notification. Dunno if they were ever actually down, though I suspect they were running ok.

I've been receiving multiple feed down messages today, but my feed is online and working. Any idea what's going on?

We rolled out some DNS changes which might have caused this today.

It could have been because the management server was unable to reach the broadcast server.

Great.
So how are we to know which messages to ignore and which to worry about? This isn't a one-time problem but a recurring issue.
How about a little courtesy and letting the feed providers know in ADVANCE when you're going to be doing something that may cause a problem?

Bob, take it easy. :)

We're adjusting to enormous growth since the acquisition. Over 100% growth in feeds. The DNS changes were to prepare for a huge infrastructure upgrade which is coming. We make changes every day that we don't think will impact the community. Unfortunately, some do. And we don't have a huge paid staff to test every change before it goes out. That's a reality.

This entire system that we all enjoy and rely upon is not run by a huge multi-national corporation with millions of dollars of budget. We have 1 software developer (me), and 4 on the senior leadership team for the major components of the site (Gordon, Eric, Mike, and Wayne).

We are working very hard to communicate with everyone, and we are working harder to build a great infrastructure to support fantastic growth.

So, be patient with us, and work with us if you see problems (such as these). This is a community effort, and should be treated as such.

...and, this goes without saying, but thank you for your support as feed providers.
