FM Transmitter for PSR-500?

I like to have my scanners audio go through the car speakers. The audio on both my 396 and the 500 is weak when doing highway speeds.
I use an old Delphi XM FM transmitter model SA 10081 on my 396 to run the audio through the car speakers and also to power the radio.
It states 6V DC 1000 mA with a positive tip.

Due to the 500 needing 9V, this will not work.

Does the 96 have the same DC needs as the 500?
If so, has anyone found a work around to use an FM transmitter on the 96 or 500 yet?

No Need for FM transmitter

I plug my earphone jack directly into the Aux jack on my Nissan Quest and listen through the speakers. All the Nissan's have Aux jacks now.

If you have problems with FM stations interfering, just remove the antenna mast from your car.

Does the 96 have the same DC needs as the 500? If you are referring to the Pro 96 it runs off 9v dc also. Do you have your audio jack shorted or not?...........Hoser
