Theres several different options that people have found to work. Either using a stubby "racing" antenna, yagi directional antenna, paper clips, no antennas. You'll just have to try different things to see what will work for you.

If you are really close to one individual site, 'no antenna' or a paper clip might work. The same with a stubby antenna such as the
Comet, or other stubby antennas often used at auto races. Occasionally, attenuation will help.
For many, though, a yagi (directional0 antenna, aimed at a specific site, not necessarily the closest one, but one the farthest (in direction) from the other sites is the best option. You can use the RR database to indicate the location of the various sites of a simulcast system. If, for example, you had three sites to choose from, on to your northwest, one southwest, and a third, somewhat farther, to your east, aim toward the eastern one, as that is in a direction opposite of the other two.
