Turning on the P25 LP Filter helps a little

I just discovered while listening downtown I receive the city TGs a lot better on the FC Simulcast site then I do on the city site.

Antenna wise on simulcast less is better. You may want to try the stock antenna, the only one I haven't tried yet.

I have tried several antennas on my BCD396XT which have worked well up to this point and they all have performed poorly on the city sites. They work fine on the state and county sites. About all you can do is move the radio around until you find the sweet spot.

I was getting the fire dispatch fine while it was on. Up until now I have never had a problem with any MARCS-IP sites.

I guess it's time to start saving up for a Unication G4/G5.

It work in a downtown building, it works well on my drive in until I get downtown and then it's all distorted, your city wide feed sounds excellent though, no distortion in it at all.

I'm using a Yagi directional antenna for the feed.

The Franklin County Site (061) with the city talk groups is almost perfect on my BCD396XT downtown.

The TGs shouldn't matter. I am still hearing more on the feed that I am not hearing on the county site though. Not all city zones / units are affiliating with the county site every time.

The tones are definitely when the channel is restricted for emergency use. I hear them every 15 seconds or so and they stop when someone says "you can open the channel back up". I used to hear this feature on some radio systems in the Cincinnati area.

That is called the channel marker. It is a tone played every 10 seconds to indicate the air is being held. It is a wonderful feature.

Thanks. Forgot about that. Good I'm glad they added it in.

Also XTS5000s are going for pretty much nothing now. If your good with CPS you will have a wonderful handheld scanner. I used an MTS2000 for years.

I am using WS 1080, do I need to enter all 15 frequencies to listen to the digital system or just the control channel? The ezscan software doesn't seem to update this properly as all I can hear are Sheriffs office calls. This is my first digital scanner and even after reading tons of documentation I am confused as all hell.

I've put all the old analog channels into my digital side and all the old analog channels are also in my analog system. That way I don't worry about which ones switch.

P.S Hearing July 31st for CFD switch over.. Not sure when the suburbs are switching but it should be pretty soon also

Unless the dead spot on 270 halts it. CPD has been reporting issues on parts of 270. Some tuning is still needed in the system. CFD will be the absolute last to leave. Ive been listening to CPD private calls. You can understand all the problems of the system from them.

Uniden Home Patrol 1

Will my HP 1 work with Columbus now? Do I need to buy a HP 2 with TDMA Phase 2 (or something like that)

I think I have programmed all the channels correctly on my HP1 using the Ohio MARCS IP Multi Agency (P25) talkgroups, but I'm not hearing anything

Any help would be appreciated.
