I can see it as well. If you could post a screen shot that would help.

It works fine with trunked systems but try it on a conventional system.....thanks for all your help.

Looks like that font might be the issue. Look at the list of "Delimiters" too. And the last line of the first paragraph.

I agree with J, it looks like you have your DPI setup incorrectly. If you set it to a normal dpi everything should go back to normal.

Version L is out, waiting to see the release notes or what's new.

Here is what's new:

What's New
==========
-Improved Record Audio Quality
-Added file playback & isolation. Double click on a log entry to hear it back, or highlight several, right click and select play to create a mini playlist.
-File isolation copies recordings of interest to a special directory.
-You can turn off automatic log scrolling
-Fixes an issue with setting the P25 NAC search option on P25 One Freq Trunk Systems
-Fixes an issue with setting P25 Wait Time on digital XT scanners
-Other bug fixes & improvements

For those (including Assaf) who don't know what SQP is talking about - a new kind of rebanding band plan was recently identified in Illinois. This wiki article lists the proper offsets, as well as links to the individual discussions;

Comm Port Issue

Upgraded to version L.
Now when I start the program up and click on download from scanner, queue the system list and click download, an error message pops up "FreeScan unable to access com1,check your settings and try again"
Settings show as com3,15200 same as i used with version K. I have to select "reset" and "test" which reports the port ready for use. Then I can do the download, and all works fine until I exit the program and restart.
Then I must go thru the above procedure to get it to work again. I don"t have any problems with ProScan on this port. I removed then reinstalled the Prolific USB driver but the problem persists.
Any suggestions ?

Thanks,
Steve

I've noticed some wierd stuff updating it as well, and already filed a report. I would remove FreeScan and reinstall - that's what I did, and it worked. When I tried to run the installer and use my usual shortcut, it didn't work.

For some reason the .9L installer wipes out the K version without rewriting L. I don't know why 73 Mike

Not sure how you are selecting "Reset" since there is no reset button. Check to make sure no other program might be using the COM port, if there is one then FreeSCAN won't be able to access and it will reset to a different one.

Comm port issues

Your right of course, it's "refresh" not "reset" from the comm port settings screen. My bad.
I checked the comm port usage but found no issues. If this is the only problem (and so far that is the case), I'll
live with it. FreeScan is a great program and worth the occasional issue. I primarily us it for two features,
EZ grab is unequaled for clipboard downloads and the scanner optimizer is top shelf stuff. I'll figure this out eventually or just live with it until the next upgrade. Thanks for the ideas and assistance.

Not sure if this will work, but try going into your Device Manager settings for com ports and force the com port for your actual com port you are using to Com 1 since this is what freescan is looking for. I did this on my laptop that I have to use a USB to Serial adapter for (no serial port on the laptop), and it worked every time after that.

Comm port issues

Thanks to pro106import !

You hit the nail right on the head. I forced the port as you recommended and the problem has been resolved.
Thanks again for your timely (and accurate) input.
