I monitored some actual PD transmissions yesterday on TGID 415. Anyone hearing anything?

One of the officers told me a few weeks ago the system was supposed to come up in .............a few weeks.

I've been hearing a lot of radio tech traffic on TG 324 the past week or so.

I think Frisco FD just switched over a few minutes ago. They did a station tone test, asked them all to acknowledge. After that, the dispatcher said, "all traffic will now be on the digital system, make sure all mobile and portable radios are switched to B Bravo, Zone 2." This is on talkgroup 101.

I've been hearing PD traffic stops all day on talkgroup 1.

Have you heard any encryption yet? there are rumors that Frisco will Encrypt like McKinney.

I don't think I've heard any encryption yet, but I'm not sure what it sounds like on a digital system. Will is just sound like an open squelch like on other systems?

Later last evening, Chief Mack did an over the air thanks to his Batt Chief and the whole shift that had apparently been working on the project.

I expect Frisco to remain a more open system and just have selected encrypted talk groups. I find it laughable that McKinney perceives the need to encrypt all their communications. It really makes you wonder what they are trying to hide. So much for transparency in Police operations.

Frisco is active and open. Monitoring from west McKinney and comes in clear. Getting lots of UIDs but not much on the tg.

Encryption on P25 sounds like a drunk R2D2... Just a bunch of blips and beeps... Kinda sounds like a P25 unencrypted signal from handheld that has a poor signal into the repeater.

TGID 102 seems to be FIRE DISPATCH (Response) Like DFD-01. Caught Police Activity on TGID: 103, 103 is Officers searching a house and talking to Dispatch. An OP'S Channel? I also heard Police on TGID: 2 but it was to garbled to understand. Female officer calling a Sergeant.

Digital Encryption: A Waterfall ran through a Digital synthesizer - OR - R2D2 Drunk .... I've always thought it like a Digital waterfall - Rather annoying personally, Kinda like R2D2 sober ....

OK, Frisco's been busy today - Here is What I have ID'd.

1 Police Dispatch
2 Police Info/NCIC
3 Police OP'S-1
4 Police OP'S-2

324 City Hall (Security/Maint/Operations)

101 Fire Dispatching & Tone out
102 Fire Dispatching En Route & Status
106 Fire Admin or Ops (E-619 talking to a Battalion Commander)
110 Fire EMS to HOSP (Centennial ER)

I've had sever other hits (Police Activity on TG: 6) and 858.1875 Shows as CC 07 if that has any importance. Looking now, I see other frequencies also flashing CC 07, I guess 07 is the Control channel.

PD OP'S 1 & 2 were identified by the officers when directing traffic to those. And Frisco PD Dispatch has a Radio ID of 103, Most Patrol units have ID's of 100XXX.

Wow, impressive. I've had off and on success with this system and I'm right on the border of Frisco/McKinney along Custer Road.

Sounds great when I can hear it, but then times I can't and it gets choppy.

OK, It's actually marginal in Bedford. I went to work 1 mile away, and lost it. Came back home, and it's not picking up the control channel all the time.

Just heard R2D2 on tg 407, and man was he loaded!

Same here range wise. I'm in SW Fannin Co. (About 7 Miles North of Blueridge) and Its really clear even on the Shack 800 Mhz antenna inside my house. I get 4 Solid bars, and at night full scale.

I'm running search on the system with 5 spaces in "Private" (I-Call) but nothing new has sprung up for me. I'll listen to the 407 TG and see if R2 talks any.

I think Frisco really did a good job on this. Fire tones in Digital sound kinda funky though.
