I used to hear a repeaters on 140.65, 142.925, and several others that I don't remember
from Wichita Falls. They also had some on 407 or 408 MHz. Search the federal bands 138 - 144,
148 - 150.75, 406.1 - 420 and you should find them. They can be very active at times.

142.275 Was probably data from the Field Artillery Digital Automatic Computer or FADAC (Aka "Freddie").

142.925 Was Range Control Operations (Only used by RC Ops). Units training on the
ranges at Fort Sill used the other frequencies to communicate with
Range Control.

408.425 Was used by many units at Fort Sill. CID and MPI had this frequency in their
portables going back to 1984. EOD (explosive disposal) and ASP (Ammo Dump)
was a major user.

There's alot of frequencies that are used at Fort Sill.

I spent many years at Fort Sill when I was in the Army. Retired at Fort Sill in July 1985.
The scanning of the Fort Sill frequencies was also interesting and a challenge to identify.
Most units during training change frequencies each day except for Range Control and MEDEVAC.

In February's edition of Monitoring Times there is mention of a new Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system that the military is installing at several instillations, including Fort Sill. This system is reported to operate in the 380 to 400 Mhz range and is APCO-25 capable. If you have a scanner that can cover this range, may I suggest searching here.

Also, I found an interesting Ad on M/A-com's website:

Happy Hunting.
