Those look an awful lot like Hybrid talkgroups when monitoring a Hybrid Block as a Type II setting. Still getting all of those agencies on their Type I talkgroups right now. Also, those talkgroups appear to be way too far apart to be true Type II talkgroups (which are generally seperated by 16 or 32 on a decimal system, not 600 or more - which is more like the fleet size of the Hybrid fleets). I believe those same talkgroups were reported quite a while back when someone attempted to monitor the Hybrid blocks as Type II (the Hybrid fleets do indeed display as odd Type II groups).

If the system were now a full Type II system, I wouldn't be getting all these agencies on their old Type I subfleets. I still am.

Our county did the same thing when they went from a Type-I to a Type II TRS. I'll bet that the talkgroups are patched over from the new Type-II Ids, into the old Type-I talkgroups, until all the old radios are replaced. This way, both the new and old radios can intercommunicate with each other.

Right. But it's a IIi/Hybrid system (both Type I and Type II radios still in use on the system) so what I'm trying to say is I think these patches have existed for a couple years and are not really directly related to the switch from Hybrid to true Type II... they're just a result of the desire to allow Type I only radios and Type II only radios intercommunicate.

This is exactly how DeKalb Sheriff (the next county east of Fulton) was set up for several years.... You could find Type II talkgroups seperated by 600 or 800 decimal digits (the block size) that were mapped at the system level to the Type I subfleets, and you could monitor the Sheriff fine using either Type I or the Type II selection. But late last year when DeKalb Sheriff really did go to true Type II, they got a set of all new talkgroups that were 32 apart, and in a new Block, and both the old Type II groups and the Type I subfleets went silent in the old Hybrid block.

Similarly, I would expect Fulton agencies to get all new Type II talkgroups in another block at some point, and both the Type I subfleets and the Type II groups that are mapped to the Type I subfleets (described above) should go silent.

Fulton County switching to type II

We are currently involved in the reprogramming of all radios on Fulton County's system to switch them to full type II trunking. They will still operate on the old type I subfleets for a short time until all programming is completed. Then they will switch over to their new TGs.
