when I go to turn on or off a bank of talk groups on my my RS -197 I get an error message that says:
Heap error
229F21 : 22A6

I turn the scanner off then back on and the bank I was turning off or on is what I wanted it to be.

This has just started in the last week. Any Idea's?

Heap Error Message: you have some TGRP objects that are not associated with any TSYS

Have a look at this, and see if it helps. >>> GRE/RS Object Oriented Scanners FAQ - The RadioReference Wiki

A search in the "Radio Shack Scanners" forum for "Heap" will list several similar situations and ideas for solutions.

Maybe this one will help, though the code is not identical. Scroll down to read about TSYS without TGRP scenarios.

Hope this helps,

I've found it happens when there is a memory error, such as from a bad upload. I've re-uploaded from software to resolve the issue. It could also happen if you load from a different V scanner.

I think that's what I posted about.
I might be wrong though.

@RonnieUSA: You are right, we referenced the same problem-scenario. Even though I didn't directly quote your post (which I probably should have for clarity), I was agreeing with your conclusion while also trying to promote forum-specific searching for known issues, because I have found that, with the rich collection of knowledge in these forums, in many situations searching and finding answers can be quicker than posting and waiting for replies.

Thanks,
