Hello everyone,
I am interested in programming a scanner with Gladwin County MI frequencies, however i fail to see site information regarding that county.
Does anyone know control channel information for that county?

It doesn't look like there are any sites in Gladwin County, which means that the county is covered by sites in adjacent counties. Depending on where in the county you are, you should be able to receive at least one site from an adjacent county.

Go to the MPSCS page and at the top of the site listing, click on the word "County" at the top of that column; that will sort the site list alphabetically by county. Scroll to find sites in counties adjacent to Gladwin. Click on the site name and it will take you to that site's page, which includes a map of the *approximate* coverage area of the site. If you are within the shaded circle, you should probably be able to receive that site.

Gladwin County (as of this time last year) still used VHF frequencies for a lot of their operations. That may have changed in the past year, as I see a few more talkgroups listed in the MPSCS for them than there were previously, but it'd definitely be worth visiting the county home page as well to program their VHF channels in.

Thank you for your reply, I will definitely get those VHF frequencies programmed in.

I have found the neighboring countries and will program those in.

Thank you for replying to this thread.

Looks like the Harrison and Sterling sites cover Gladwin Co. The county has 11 MPSCS talkgroups but some of them are labeled future.

I monitor Gladwin routinely. For MPSCS, you'll need to put in the surrounding counties CC frequencies those in red as Gladwin has no MPSCS tower and is the only one like that in MI.

What scanner model do you have? If you need more help setting up I can help out further and directly as we are relatively close.

Go here, RRDB | Michigan Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference and has a link to the MPSCS at the bottom. Then also at the link, click on the county, it will show all the VHF-UHF there. There's several agencies on DMR too. Under MODE if it’s FMN you can get it, the ones DMR you can only get with Motorbo capable scanners.

MPSCS for Gladwin you can get the DNR, a few talkgroups for MYMich and the Gladwin police patch from 158.730 for MSP.

I have plugged both of those sites into my scanner. I don’t live in Gladwin but have friends who do and I will be going there soon to check out my scanner programming results.
Thank You,
Dean

I have a SDS200 that I’m currently programming.
Thank you, I will look over everything the RRDB has and see what all interests.
