Usually, except FCC itself made a typo for GMRS;

Everyone makes mistakes, even the US Government.

My point wasn't that they don't. My point was that some random dude on the internet isn't always right, as was pointed out with the poorly written amateur radio'esque document referring to "QRP" on MURS and several errors on the frequencies.

One important step to living is learning who you can trust, and what to do to confirm information. As always, internets are not always a good source. Far too many people (especially hams) don't take the time to read/understand the FCC rules and will spout all kinds of incorrect information in some sort of attempt to sound like an authority.

If you want correct information on MURS, FRS, GMRS, etc, amateur radio operators are not an authoritative source.

Used to be a guy on my local repeater down in Pasco county, FL, who spouted off all kinds of BS when answering simple questions. When he was called on it he always replied, "Well, that's what I was told, don't kill the messenger". I think he intentionally gave bad information to new hams out of spite. No idea why. He was eventually run off the repeater. Some people (hams) do want to be perceived as an amateur radio authority when they are generally full of horse-pucky. I think they call them megalomaniacs. hah

"Well, that's what I was told, don't kill the messenger".

Well, I believe there are instances where the messenger needs to be corrected, or at least include a disclaimer that they have no freakin' clue what they are talking about. Homicide would be taking it too far, but should always be kept as a last resource.

I won't engage in arguments with amateur radio operators. Some really know there stuff. Some barely passed a 35 question multiple choice test that doesn't cover anything other than the absolute minimum info required to quality for using a ham radio. It's not my job to figure out which one they are.

Know someone who's a self-appointed VC, FCC enforcement agent, and a self appointed frequency coordinator? You know this guy!

Folks, let's stick to GMRS, FRS, and MURS in this thread.

Just don't understand why people won't check the RR wiki.

Because if you ask the average radio enthusiast out there if they know about RR, they'll say "huh?". (Might be different if more people know about this sight--as is the case with Google & etc.):)
