EMS is sending all available on duty and off duty personelle, OPP are pulling resources from everywhere too. Lots of comms on Middlesex OPS09 and Huron OPS07... EMS should be on London West. Heard air ambulance on Provincial Common looking for places to land in the area. OPP are also discussing another significant cell that is headed towards the Grand Bend area.

Sounds like the tornado made ground around the Sifto Salt mine and headed inland. Coast Guard is reporting boats floating free out into the lake but they cannot get to their vessels due to downed wires and such.

A bit of an update.... Sounds like the tornado touched town by the town square near the arena. Heavy damage to the area from the winds and fist sized hail. OPP have reported one 10-45 at the Sifto Salt mine (sounds like it got whacked pretty hard). Needless to say power is out thru the area and there are numerous gas leaks.

Looks like another cell is on its way Grand Bend Forest and Strathroy area this time, doesnt look too big, more of a nuisance. I have a friend who lives in Seaforth and they got hammered. She also was supposed to work today in Goderich, lucky she did not I guess.

It was a powerful storm, saw it skirt us on the other side of the escarpment in Burlington, it seemed to follow Hwy 8 and then the 401 went it pushed thru the GTA.

Normally when a storm comes from the NW you can feel to chill in the air and the clouds that skirted the escarpment were extremely low, almost look like downbursts or tornadoes were going to form.

There are a lot of units on scene. Just in the past 10 or 15 minutes I've heard callsigns from Lambton, Middlesex, Huron & Perth OPP as well as MNR and MTO Enforcement.

Best wishes to all those involved... We went through this July 1st, finally got stuff back to normal here, or at least as normal as it ever will be.

I was there about 30 mins after the tornado hit the town.
1 person was killed at the salt vapirator
The entire square was blocked off. Not at the time i got there but after a bit they blocked it off.. Court house all the windows are gone. The theater roof was gone and then caught fire, td bank was gone, the scotia bank, mbo and cibc bank windows were all blown out. Top half of a church was missing, and all the bricks just fell all over the road.

ALOT of trees are gone. Sooo many huge uprooted trees. Parts of houses missing alot of trees into cars. Only saw 1 car...well a van on its side. Some some metal siding from the salt mine stuck into the side of a tree. After about 2 hours the MCU showed up.

Orange sent both choppers, also saw 2 orange ems trucks there. Huron and bruce county ems. Middlesex, Norfolk, Oxford, Lambton, Perth, Wellington, and of course huron OPP. They had Wingham police, stratford police, waterloo regional police and Hanover police services doing road blocks all over the town.
About 6 different fire services i saw. One unit from about 2 hours away.

Every couple mins more streets were getting shut down from gas leaks. Cable wires down all over, not too many hydro lines down on the streets. Was just insane to see. OH also OPP had to kick people out of the bar downtown because it was still open and people were in there gettingn their drink on.

was cool to see that many emergency services working as 1 big unit. Now they have cranes at the salt mine and such trying to fit some stuff already. CTV news tried to sneak in and say they were givin access to enter the square but OPP sent them packin. They have security setup at all the banks in town (good thing they are all in the same spot) generators and spotlights went up around 2am.

So far no calls for looters yet. Sooo thats my little first hand "report"
