Got my PSR 800 today!

Yes totally serious no joke intended . If it give you problems or if you want to get the face plate go to gre's website and they will send you a new one. If you have a little wear now it will keep going. Even if you don't feel safe to change it when the time comes you will have it and you should be able to find a shop change it over.

I had read another thread of other folks paint coming off .......mine is not that bad, BUT it is showing wear ..........I'll go on GRE n ask.........

UPDATE: I went to GRE site n submitted my issue n requested a replacement front cover

I picked up a Radio Shack 800 MHz antenna n it improved the reception ALLOT!

The kitchen was the worst part for reception.....maybe cause of all the appliances, or the fact that it is in the center of the house?
It would only pick up psoriatic conversations with the GRE rubber duck...... I sat there without moving the scanner n just replaced the antenna n it started to pick up conversations immediately!
I've moved around the house n its better in all rooms.......am pleased..!

Scanner master is shipping me out the rechargeable batteries n USB/AC adapter.......I also have a La Crosse 700 battery charger in route from Amazon.com........

Still scanning like a champ!

Great News! Where in Miami do you live of course no specifics. I lived near Overtown train station , a lot of sh*t goes around there! Great scanner listening there !

I live out west, in what they call "horse country", (sunset area .......if you're familiar with Miami)

Over town hough?........ I worked that area in like 99'-00'.................also worked liberty city........pretty much the whole city at 1 point or another in the 18+ years I was there...........

I was an employee of Miami, hence why I wanted to monitor them...(am retired now)

I believe you can't. You can set it to come on when you press a button, always on when on battery or always on when on external power.

The battery and external power have the same options.

I just looked and posted a screen shot of the options. Yeah, it would be nice like on the Uniden 396XT.

I found this. You can set the LED or backlight to come on per freq or TG.

Just n update, I have programmed Miami Dade Fire n Miami Dade PD on separate scan lists!

N Miccosukee Indian reservation PD/Fire on a separate "single" scan list since they are n extremely small department, (3 channels for PD n 2 for Fire)!

Also programmed on yet another channel our innercity channel which is used to relay info between the departments

*Note all above programming was done on the scanner. Not using EZSan*

Soon, I will try Miami Beach PD n Fire. which is a fairly large department like the City of Miami n are also on Motorola trucking 800

Not sure why the City of Miami gave me such a problem to program, BUT it's scanning like a champ now.......thank you rwier!

Soon I may try n copy the info on the scanner to my PC ........just in case, that way I wouldn't have to do this programming all over again if something went wrong

What a pleasant post to read. What progress!! I wouldn't attempt to program anything but the most basic setting without software, with any of my scanners.

Tracker, the next time someone throws up a post (it's usually their first or second post ever, lol) that reads something like:

"I just got this here ______ brand/model and it won't pickup _________ System at all and I'm about to throw this $500 brick out the window."

You tell'um what for!

Question........ how would I delete a whole ScanList from EzScan...?
I see how to do it channel by channel, but the ScanList has over 500 channels......
