I thought that at one time I was able to use the GPS port on the 436HP to send data to Scanner Screen or a similar program. I can't remember how I did that, or if I actually did.

What I'd like to do is use that port in conjunction with the Virtual Control feature on ARC536.
Is that possible or is it only possible through the Mini USB port?

I'm sure I tried the GPS port in the past and it wouldn't work for serial commands, not tried recently though.

I just tried my 436 using ARC 536 in Virtual Control. I used the USB port with the factory supplied cable.

Just have to be sure the baud rate on the scanner matches the baud rate in ARC as well as the correct Com port assignment.

There was a discussion some time back about use the 536's rear GPS port for serial applications, such as Virtual Control, instead of the front USB port. The 536's were having an issue with the front port changing from Serial to Mass Storage for no reason. The rear port connection deals with the situation.
