ive never used auto squelch, and it doesnt sound that appealing to me. Ill need to read alot of good reivews on the auto squelch before i jump on one of these. its ashmed too, since everything else about this scanner is perfect for me

Do not let the auto squelch deter you from what looks like a very nice scanner for the money . Assuming the majority of your conventional frequencies are using a tone of some type, it should not be an issue. Set it once and forget it.
