Here's what the Euclid Dispatch is showing tonight.

GCRCN: 1892902 (PSR-500)

MARCS-IP: 1892192 (BCD436HP)

The Field Units: The RID's displayed on my PSR-500 on GCRCN are what I posted earlier (1892xxx & 1862xxx).

The Field Unit RID's are not showing up on my BCD436HP on MARCS-IP.

I switched my PSR-500 to monitor Euclid PD on MARCS-IP. Most of the Field Units are showing a RID of 0, a few are showing up with 1893xxx.

Best guess at this point. Most of the Field Units have been switched to the GCRCN system and are being patched to MARCS-IP, but the RID is not being passed to MARCS-IP.

The Dispatch RID is showing as 1892192.

The GCRCN system is showing RID's for all Euclid radio's, Field Units and Dispatch.

Also, what about Euclid FD?

I had been in search mode on MARCS IP but turned it to scan for some reason and forgot to toggle it back to search, so I missed all of that! :)

so is it safe to say Euclid is on Cleveland 100% now?

I would think for Euclid to be on Cleveland that Euclid City Council would have to pass an ordinance to be there as they did in January 2015 to be with the Chagrin Valley Dispatch. I have reviewed every ordinance that Euclid has passed from January to May 18, 2015 and there is no ordinance passed to be on Cleveland's system. Therefore I assume Euclid may be thinking about moving and in a testing stage now.

I wouldn't make that assumption at this point. We've seen other communities pop up on the GCRCN system for a short (Test) period of time. Independence and Broadview Hts. as two examples. Some longer term like Garfield Hts.

That's just my thoughts.

Add Warrensville Hts 56628 to that list. They were active for a weekend then nothing. I ran my HP in discovery last night and had no hits on Euclid FD on the GCRCN.

new cpd tg 56014

I'm hearing traffic on TG 56014. Sounds like some type of traffic detail in the 1st district. Any thoughts on how to tag? City-5 maybe??

In the last year I've monitored traffic on a TG range of 56013 to 56028, 16 consecutive TGs. All of the traffic that I have monitored on that range has been some form of CPD special details.

For my own use in my scanner I've labeled them as CPD Special Detail 1-16.

TG56013 CPD Special Detail 1
TG56014 CPD Special Detail 2
and so on to
TG56028 CPD Special Detail 16

Additional info, some of the special details have taken place outside of Cleveland, in neighboring suburbs.

Thx Dave,

I was hoping when I did my post, that someone would post back with the official name. As you mentioned those TG's have been in use for quite a while.

Euclid on GCRCN

I had a friend tell me that Euclid was planning on switching to GCRCN because they have absolutely NO radio reception in the high-rise buildings on Lakeshore and on Euclid Ave. When I asked him about the vehicle repeaters that Euclid was supposed to have in place for those exact situations, he said that they were "having problems with them." I get the impression that it's a compatibility issue with the IP system similar to OSHP. Last I heard, the vehicle repeaters for FD were working fine.

Although interoperability with surrounding departments is not as critical with EPD, EFD's ability to communicate with mutual aid departments in Lake county and NE Cuyahoga County is absolutely critical, so it wouldn't surprise me if EFD stays on MARCS-IP and the PD works out their own arrangement with the Cleveland system.

If coverage is vital in their city and they get it with the Cleveland system, they will probably both move to the Cleveland system (lower user fees would be a bonus).

Remember, they don't have to always be on the same system to talk to each other; if units from Lake and other areas are needed and vice-versa, they can always change channels to the neighboring system.

This presumes, of course, that the respective system owners aren't being mean and invoicing everyone for access, no matter what. Interoperability-only access for the ability to aid your neighbor should never have a price tag.

This is why I think FD may stay on MARCS. GCRCN does not charge access fees for their "interoperability package" only. MARCS, however, charges full monthly access fees even if you only need interop access.

Just curious, are the dispatchers for Euclid currently dispatching from the PD in Euclid or from the new Chagrin Valley Dispatch Center in Bedford? If they did move to the Cleveland system would they not have to install new equipment in the Euclid station?

Apparently using console 1094 according to my log.
