Greetings. I am seeking help with “nesting” large systems. I could not find this on The Scanner Guys. My Example: San Mateo County P25. I have imported it using Sentinel and assigned it Favorites List 03. Due to the many agencies, I want to put all of the law enforcement talk groups into a single group, the EMS talk groups into a different group, SamTrans into its own group, etc. My goal is to press favorites list 03, then the group I wish to listen to. Right now, it’s all or nothing. I also want to do the same for the San Francisco Airport (analog) Currently, I have Favorites List 09 assigned to Aircraft. Then I’d like to have sub quick keys for the various airports in my area, then different airports groups- operations, security, Tower, etc. into their own groups.

Is this level of “nesting” possible? Can it be done with Sentinel or should I purchase the Butel software for the SDS100 and SDS-200?

Thank you all.

Thank you for any help.

Yes that level of "nesting" is possible. But I would use ProScan, it is easy to use and has drag and drop so you could easily separate the various departments like you would like to, and is easy to setup to do a Web Server or Remote Scanner over IP.

I just separate my P25 systems by county (as shown below), but you can separate by type of department just as easy. Then assign quick keys so you can turn things on and off. Also set scanner to ID SCAN not ID SEARCH so you only display the TGIDs of what you want to listen too.

If these are all departments carried over the same system, consider assigning quick keys at the department level
Understanding Quick Keys

Same concept. Assign quick keys for Airport FL, and at the system & department levels if desired. If you want to go down to the nitty gritty and do it at the channel level: Using Number Tags
