I do and I did but it isn't picking up much. A lot of broken words and garbled sounding audio when it does actually catch something. I'll keep playing with it but it doesn't bode well.
I have virtually NO EBRCS reception at my home in Lafayette. It's just as you describe. If you haven't done so already, I'd suggest putting the 996 in the car and driving around a bit. I did that, and found that the radio worked a lot better away from home. It didn't solve the underlying problem, but it made me feel a little bit better about buying it.
