Help programming..R/S Pro-197

I purchased the R/S pro 197 and it is TOTALY over my head! Is there anyone here that can program this thing?

I am located in North Augusta SC.. ANY help is appreciated...

Hi Ernie, I can program it. However, it won't receive North Augusta Public Safety at all because they are digital. If you want me to program it, PM me.

No, and yes.
Did you buy the programing cable with it?
If so use it to program it with, and your choice of programs, most have a 30 day trial.

Boy do I owe someone an apology! I had my head up my @&& when I said that. I just programmed a hand held and with my dyslexia, I was thinking it was a 197.

Ernie, I have a cable and software if you have the time.

Ok.. Got cable and disk.. Downloaded drivers and Now I am TOTALY lost after 3 hours of trying.

This is what I use >> (Win500) Win500: PSR-500, PSR-600, PRO-106, PRO-197, PSR-310, PSR-410 Scanner Software for Data Management, Monitoring, and Control
But there are others.
Most have a 30 day trial period.

Try using Win500 to import those, You can choose what You want, and leave out what You don't want to hear.

I concur. Win 500 is the best to use for Radio Shack scanners. Follow RonnieUSA's directions and you should have no problem. I'll be in and out today just like all this weekend was. Got some issues to resolve, but will be back full force tonight (I hope).
