I have Direwolf working under MX Linux.....see screenshot when I type "direwolf" at terminal. How do I tell it what to monitor and what freq? There is no setup option like in the old Windows version. The help file isn't much help. I am trying to receive amateur APRS. The command -B1200 is for 1200 baud and the -t is for default color option. So what you see in attachment is all I get. No way to set it up that I can see.

What software are you using to receive signal with your sdr?

I compiled direwolf, opened the config file, removed the # on line 87, terminal ran direwolf, sdr++ & nooelec v5 for receiving(tuned to 144.390)... messed with audio settings for 30 minutes Received nothing.

Closed direwolf (ctrl c)

Direwolf config , put back the # at line 87, removed the # at line 97

In sdr++ I set sink(audio) to network
My network address port 7355
Protocol UDP
Sample rater 44100
Clicked start (status sendind)

In terminal I started direwolf

direwolf

Nothing

Then tried

direwolf UDP:7355

Started receiving packets

I have SDR Sharp but I don't remember how to set it up for doing this. I am using an RTL-SDR dongle connected to an Omni-X scanner antenna up about 30 ft. The dongle is plugged directly into a USB port on my computer. Do I have to use that "VB Cable" software? I am using Linux for all this. The configuration file that I have is blank.

direwolf is a two-way communication program used to interface a console-type program with a radio to send and receive. While you can use it to monitor ax.25, there will have to be something in the middle to join it to the rtl-sdr.

Try this:

Yes...thank you this did the trick........
Is it possible to monitor MULTIPLE frequencies using this same command? I would like to see if there is any packet radio in my area. can I monitor those freqs LIKE THIS?:

rtl_fm -f 145.030M - 145.050M - 145.070M - 145.090 M - | direwolf -r 24000 -D 1 -

Not with the wolf.

I would fire up a wideband SDR software to look for activity on the waterfall. Center freq around 145.05, 2 MHz width. That may give you a clue. Look up net schedules to see if there is a packet net.

Edit: I did not look at the text in red. Try it and get back to us
