help with pll receiver

I just got a pll receiver for Christmas. It has a button for ssb, but apparently, you have to hold it down to hear ssb transmissions. Is there a way to make it stick? If there isn't, is there a way to replace the button with a switch?

Kaito KA1102 But when you go to their site, it's DE1102? Looking at the "cheat sheet" here: Kaito KA1102 Operating Guide I don't see a SSB switch??

If it's the same as the Kaito KA1102, here's a review, which also discusses SSB mode - note you must be in "page 9" to activate the BFO..

Thanks everybody. The problem has been solved. I was apparently using the wrong buton to change pages all along. Something to know though. YOu can use the ssb function in other pages, but you are limited to 5khz steps, and you have to hold the button down in order to hear the ssb signal. The ssb switch is a toggle button located on the side of the unit just above the music/news switch.
