The correct frequency is 154.0925 per the WPYX513 license. 154.9025 is not a valid frequency which is why the scanner won't accept it.

Change your step size to 7.5 kHz.
His scanner defaults to 7.5 so no need to change anything. Scanner was correctly responding to an invalid frequency by defaulting to nearest correct frequency.

154.9025 was not a valid frequency which is why your scanner was attempting to correct it. The actual 154.0925 should enter with no problem.

Oppenheim and Dolgeville are Herkimer schools. My UHF Yagi is actually pointed in the opposite direction and that might be in one of its deep nulls, but I will give it a shot and see if I can catch anything tomorrow afternoon. Usually school buses give out roads and school names. Roads can be helpful by correlating them using the school district layer in Google Earth.?

FYI, technically, Oppenheim is Fulton County, with OESJ CS having schools in Fulton and Montgomery Counties. BTW, they're VHF on their own analog repeater. (y)

Oppenheim, while physically located in Fulton County is a Herkimer BOCES component school, just like Richfield is in Otsego, but a Herkimer Component school. I just didn't want anyone to get confused as BOCES district lines do not always follow county lines....Though safe to say if they are still on their VHF channel, not likely on the DMR system. One school eliminated from the puzzle!

Madison BOCES did something similar with MPT Systems out my way. It took a few years but a bunch of school districts switched their bussing to it.

I can easily here the main transmitter from my house, and I have SDR Trunk running on it. So we shall see. It is looking like a conventional Tier2 multisite/multi-talkgoup Hytrera system.

@studgeman I can assure you that OESJ does not operate on a DMR system. Though, they are running Cadillac XPR5550e's in many of their buses for a single analog repeater channel (and a T/A) LOL

No worries I believe you! Musta gotten a hell of a deal on those, or they found a really good sales guy! LOL

I am gathering since it is almost 3 PM and I haven't heard any student transportation on this channel yet I am guessing this is just internal Herkimer BOCES operations etc. and at least this point they aren't doing shared services with their school districts.

@studgeman Are you monitoring Herkimer BOCES on 452.1750? I have dozens to transmissions today from this frequency. There are two Talk Groups in use (that I know of). My newest WAG is TG100 belongs to Dolgeville and TG110 is for Mohawk (big guess here). I have setup two SDRs to monitor the two TGs so I can differentiate them.

Yeah, That's what I have running. Bunch of traffic throughout the day, but none of it student transportation/bussing. Maintenance/Administrative type of conversations, fairly non-descript.

Mohawk doesn't exist anymore, as it merged into Ilion to create Central Valley. Jarvis High School in Mohawk is now Central Valley Middle School.

What makes me suspicious is when you pull the license up there are other sites licensed that are BOCES buildings. Remington Elementary--Illion, Pathways Program; Gross Blvd--Main Office, Herkimer; E. German St. Is another BOCES site.

A BOCES owned transmitter makes sense. I looked this up in the past and discounted the address associated with the frequency (452.175). The address from the FCC database (269 BARKER RD MOHAWK, NY) puts the tower way down the Mohawk Valley near Fultonville. That of course is outside the county and beyond my typical reception area.

Tonight I copied the Lat/Long coordinates and converted to decimal for Google Maps. Now I can see the database puts the tower SSW of Little Falls NY. That makes much more sense.

Now I have to figure out the school(s). I have two TGs I am dealing with; 100 and 110.

I have a DMR from Little Falls Buses that i think patch into the School but
here is the information

Can someone in Herkimer County (or eastern Oneida County) please confirm the identity of the DMR signal on 452.1750? The clues from the transmissions lead me to believe this is Dolgeville Central School or maybe Little Falls City School District. The transmissions are at the edge of my receiving area in NW Oneida County, so my reception is spotty.

@studgeman - I wasn't sure if this is close to you.

@Jasonr80 I appreciate the posts. There are two DMR Talk Groups (100 and 110) using this system and I would like to ID them. TG100 is on slot 1 and TG110 is on slot 2. Both use Color Code 1.

Based on some of the road names discussed by the bus drivers, I am guessing TG100 is Dolgeville Central School. I'm hoping someone familiar with the area can provide input. As you can imagine, the users (bus drivers, bus garage, and administrative staff) are active in the morning and later in the afternoon.

Thanks for your help!

Quick update. I confirmed TG100 is Dolgeville Central School. The name of the Superintendent was used on the radio to help me lock this one in. Now I need TG110.
