Before you jump to buy a PRO-95, perhaps you should check your frequency requirements such as the 68-88MHz band, which the radio does not cover out of the box (and not sure if software is able to "open up" thus range). Also is there any activity in the 174-216 range or thereabouts (isn't it called Band III)? And what about CTCSS/DCS?

Some more things to consider. I am not necessarily up to date, but weren't the London Metro Police using a 450MHz Motorola SmartNet system? They may have moved on, and you don't say where in the UK you are, but the check the '95 capabilities there, if it matters (I know it doesn't do VHF trunking).

Much commerical trunked activity uses MPT-1327, and there are no scanners I am aware that will do it.
