Still dead silent so not sure what this system going to be use for unless HCSO or Tampa is getting ready for a new system in the next month or when ever they do switch over.

I had a talk with one of the corporals and his boss for HCSO at a local restaurant I was eating at this morning they saw my Motorola XPR 6550 next to me while I was listening on to the local FM analog Amateur Radio repeater system after we talked about my radio. I asked about the new P25 system they have they claim it's still in testing mode but here soon in the few months they should be switching over they are carrying the Motorola XTS radios not sure which model they have they had it in their holster. Also they might go P25 encrypted later down the road at some point. -Crosses fingers- this doesn't happen.

must not be a very important project for the county. I remember when they built the Edacs system took a long time from what i read in the tribune

Why don't they just shut down the control channel in the mean time and save some $$$ on their power bill?

What channels you guys are getting on the display? I'm getting 769.8062 with full signal strength.

afaik nothing on the fire side has been equipped with new radios. there has been some talk about units at the shop staying a little longer to install radios, but no one on the street has anything yet.

I was thinking since the FCC Narrowband is coming in 95 days could HCSO be waiting until then to switch over to the digital system?

Narrow banding is not supposed to effect 800 mhz. or so i been told

I know this thread is a month old...So far nothing is being heard on the digital system.

Not sure what is going on with the EDACS analog side but the Radio Shop has been testing it (over the air) for the past 2 days. Hopefully soon P25 gets use?
