HP-2: Home Patrol Location Help

Running the HP2. I have a few favorites lists setup I use when stationary at work or the house. When I am mobile I’d like to change to the locations I’m going through. When I try to change my location by going to zip code, I punch it in but it keeps playing my favorites list that was selected. Why won’t it set my location to the zip code I type in. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? I thought that when I put in the zip it should pickup the channels within that zip code if I’m in range. Thanks

Did you set your favorite lists to "Use Location Control: Yes" ? You then also need to check that the systems had their lat and lon values set correctly, that they will have if you appended the systems from the database.

Location control on each favorites list had been set to yes. I will double check. So if location control is set to yes by typing in zip while I am mobile should override using the favorites list if location control is turned on each favorites list? The problem is when I’m in a different location simply typing in a new zip isn’t changing my location, it continues to use the favorites list I was on last

It will not turn a fav, list on (or off), It will limit what is scanned on that list based on location.

My recommendation is to have a list for each location that you could use. One for when you are at a fixed, home location and no location control is needed, One for mobile use. If you frequent some other location a lot, make one for it.

Example - Note I have separate scanners for home use and mobile.

In my mobile, I have a list for my local county and area, if I go out of that area I have one for a pretty huge 1/4 of the state. If outside of that area I use the full database or may create one for that area.

So if location control is set to yes by typing in zip while I am mobile should override using the favorites list if location control is turned on each favorites list?

Location control are turning Sites and Departments On or Off.
