Would like a firmware update where you could choose different color schemes something like

Hi All.

Ive had the HP-1 Update/Upgrade in my HP-1 since it was released and I know this is likely a stupid question but where is the ID Search mode? I cant seem to find it neither in the HP-1 itself, nor in the Uniden software or the full version of ARC-PATROL? And would anyone happen to know when the virtual control in ARC-PATROL will become fully functional?

I purchased the 99$ extreme upgrade and even got a registration code. But when i put it in my home patrol, it will accept all the numbers except the last number so i get an error message and when i dont use the hyphens i can get all the numbers in but get the message: wrong registration coded. I have a lot of greyed out features I can't use and I even have the lastet version of the sentinel softwsare. I emailed the webmaster of uniden but still no response.

Touch the top line and hold on the system you are scanning. Then touch the < on the right of the screen, then touch advanced, then edit current system, then edit system options, then ID search ON or OFF.

As Gommert mentioned in the thread about ARC Patrol, virtual control will not become fully functional until Uniden improves the firmware, which has very limited support for this function.

Those areas are grayed out on mine- touching them does nothing.

The best place to post a help request on your upgrade registration issue is the user forum on the Uniden HP1 website. UPMan has handled several of that issue there. I'm not sure if the webmaster is even in the same area as UPMan..

I went to where you said and registered and just for the heck of it. i followed instructons on the screen and lo and behold this time it all worked fine

Hi guys.

I just wanted to say thanks for the help. I been reading the manuals but I likely missed where it talked about it. and I wish Uniden and Butel would work a little faster so that the virtual control in the Butel software would work. lol. And I even think that Uniden should have included a virtual control in its own software for the HP-1 from the very beginning last year.

I believe the original installation is on the HP-1 internal microSD. When you connect the HP to the USB it let's you see it on the PC as a logical drive, then you can open the drive and install Sentinel software. However it may be better too install the latest version from the Uniden Twiki site as someone already posted, because you'll just be prompted to install an update anyway.

If you've got a one-frequency trunk system (which, if you're getting a talkgroup, is what you have, not a "conventional" P25 frequency), the talkgroup is being transmitted. If you're seeing 1 and/or 4095, then your "one-frequency trunk" actually has two talkgroups in use. The local "conventional P25 frequency" always sends a TG of 1 for me too.

Every P25 voice transmission has talkgroup and unit ID data - whether they're populated with useful information or not. The data is in the LC message that is part of the P25 CAI - which has nothing to do with "trunking".

Just "getting a talkgroup" doesn't mean any kind of trunking is involved.

As Ive mentioned before, that I have version 2.01 of the HP-1 firmware. I there a separate volume setting in this latest firmware other than the volume up and down buttons on the top of the HP-1?

....which I hope your meaning conventional talkgroup, vs a trunked talkgroup...just for clarification.

Though, conventional talkgroups are cool, I just don't know anyone who is actually using it.
