Thanks for issuing a fix so quickly. One general question about Sentinel. Is it better to install over the old install or is it better to remove the old installation.

One minor issue. I installed new Sentinel, and Help shows Version 2.00 (revision 02). When I select Update Master Database, it still prompts me to update to new version.

Latest version is V2.01 (revision 00). Make sure you don't have an old installer on the PC (it might have picked up the old files instead of installing the new version).

Thanks! I'll check. My 'old' installer appears to be updating the firmware properly. Gotta run, but will fix it and report back later!

Is there any place that I can confirm the date of the current database update? After the downloads and firmware update today the firmware date is correct, but the database still shows as 08/28/2011..Sentinel says the database on the PC is up to date (wish it actually showed the date) and I confirmed writing to the HP1 (forced database update the second time, just in case)..I've looked on the Uniden site, but haven't found where it might tell the date of the current database version..

Thanks also to the usual beta testers and a couple of volunteers that helped us check / verify the fix on a couple of the issues that weren't very easy to duplicate.

8/28 is the latest database. (Unless we do some special run, the update is always dated the previous Sunday and is released Monday morning.)

A big thank you to UPMan and the Uniden team for the unit ID alpha tag now displaying where the unit numeric tag displays. And I agree with earlier posts, if we could get the font color changed from the white on yellow background .. that would be a great help from having to grab the radio to see that line when on hold.

So are you now able to view P25 radio IDs in conventional mode without having to program it as a " one frequency trunked" system?

I would really love to own one of these radios but after reading some of the above comments, it sounds unnecessarily complicated to me. I own and use a smart phone and I have a BCD396XT that I have totally programmed by hand (the old-fashioned way). I am not really a computer geek, is it really that complicated ?

Complicated only if you make it that way. As you can probably tell, there are differing opinions on how things should be done. I don't envy Paul with Uniden.

Maybe I misunderstood the description of the V2,01 update. After installing V2.01 updates I find that the UID still replaces the service tag when enabled. It is not displayed below the service tag as I thought was described.

After the update.....On p-25 conventional single freq the RID should be put back on line 3 nice and large like it was before the update...its now tiny on line 4 with a large worthless TG ID on line 3....my 2 cents.....Why can't the type font be large on all 6 lines of info ???

Well it's your post that confused me.

You say P25 conventional RID so I thought it was now possible.
