Same here. I just added the ESN and checksum. Frankly, this pisses me off.

I wondered why I never was contacted...

Let me get this straight. You're miffed because you didn't complete the information required?

Yes. I already had the SN on the site. NOWHERE ON THE SITE SAID THE ESN AND CHECKSUM
were required to do anything other than purchase upgrades.

If you like obtuse/clairvoyance required websites more power to you. I don't.
I also went in early on and made certain my address was entered correctly. That was clunky too.

Many other companies get details like this correct.

I have to agree. If I hadn't read on these forums that the ESN was required to get the new battery, I would never have known by just registering the radio on the website. In fact, that's what I did when I first received the radio - just registered with name and addy + the serial number. I had to go back and add the ESN later. Luckily there was plenty of time between that and the battery shipping ;) Uniden's website / webtools have always been a bit clunky.

I should also add...I have had products before that were recalled or had a free upgrade. In every case as soon as the serial number was entered a message appeared that gave explicit instructions on what to do.

This is easy to do in 2018. It is not expensive and it is simple to implement.

Compared to those other companies, Uniden fails hard.

If I was not a member here I would not have known either. If I come off as very angry it is because I am in a weather disaster. I bought the radio specifically for emergency monitoring when the power is off. The lights here are flashing on and off and I may lose power. It would be nice to have the second bigger battery now. As it is I have a giant Li power pack to charge it just in case.

I heard a neighbors tree break and fall as I went on the porch to watch the snow progress. I live in the mountains of western NC...and this storm is hammering us. The number of accidents and fallen tree reports are out of control. Roads are mostly impassible now. Emergency responders on the Interstate are having to hike to accidents!!! 500+ cars stuck as of an hour ago!!!!

And the man that is making most of this happen has been dealing with life and death medical problems for almost all year just in case you did not know either. By the way where did you find out about the SDS100 I bet it was this site also you just do not fill out information like that with just the bare minimum you have to take some of the blame. Also 2 1/2 to 3 hours is not going to change anything with the storm thing. I have a battery supply to run my handheld scanner for a week 24/7 that is planning on my part.

I have to say the same thing happened to me..never knew I had to enter anything other than the serial number. now they say i have to wait again till more batteries come in...I think that is a bit much. How is it uniden is out of batteries already? And I'm wondering if I'm gonna have to wait again for months with no date set. I feel it's a bit ridiculous, how does uniden run out if batteries this quickly? Are there that many people they owe batteries too? This whole thing is my re-entry to the scanning hobby and what a mess. No wonder this hobby is dying.

We are not out of batteries, not by a long shot. There is inventory being reserved for this purpose.

Yeah, battery problems are the reason. Encryption has nothing to do with it.

We sent emails to every registered user at the beginning of this process, advising of the additional information that was required as well as the need to verify the mailing address. It appears that some did not get that email, either because the email was trapped by a spam filter or because the user did not have a valid email address. In a week or so (once we finish taking care of all the initial load) we will resend emails to those owners who have still not completed the process.

Haven't received a battery even though I had preorder SDS100

Paul,

I pre-ordered the SDS-100 and was one of the first to receive it. I still haven't received the larger battery. I didn't know about verifying my address until today. I went to myuniden sight and clicked on the appropriate box.

I had registered my SDS100 as soon as I received it and filled in the proper form. However, I have never ever received an email from Uniden and it was not in my spam box either.

Is there a way to check that my new battery will be sent? Uniden seems to have dropped the ball with me. I would not have known anything about the shipping batteries if I hadn't of logged on to this forum.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

If conditions are met, the battery will be shipped in the next batch.

If I identified the correct registration (possible, but doubtful) you have verified your address but not yet entered the ESN/Checksum for the scanner. If that is, in fact, your record I found (since I don't know your name, email address, or login name on our site, I found someone named "Greg" who lives in Durango who bought an SDS100 who may or may not be you), then you still need to enter the scanner's information in order to receive the battery.

OK, thanks UpMan.

I just now went to myuniden.com and updated my SN with the checksum code. I am not sure what changed because the first day I received the scanner, I went online and filled out all the necessary information.

Did the request for the ESN and checksum get added at a later date?

Anyway, I now have all the information filled out. Will I now receive the new battery?

Thanks,
Greg Chapel

Ok, thank you very much.

I had been waiting and waiting assuming that Uniden would send the battery when it was ready. Then I went to this forum today and saw that many were already receiving batteries. I am glad I checked because I had no idea that I needed to supply the additional information.

Thank you again for your help. I am looking forward to getting the bigger battery. I love the scanner but the smaller battery limit has already been an issue for me.

Am I the only one who cannot access the site and or it keeps telling me to reset my password? This is crazy. I feel like I got burned on the 536, now burned with the sds100 battery
