Hello, I just got my first scanner a Uniden BCD396XT, I am also new to the forums and just purchased my subscription to RadioReference.com

After I downloaded "FreeScan" to my PC, I then imported a number of frequencies via the software of different agencies, then uploaded them to my new scanner. The upload was successful but I have what may seem as a stupid question "how do I select those channels" when I want to scan them?

I attached a screen capture of my channels. I assigned each channel a Quick Key, did I do this correctly? if so how do I jump from one channel to another?

Thanks in advance,

Dave...

Quick Keys are for Systems and sites for trunked systems. There are also Group Quick Keys for turning on groups of channels within those systems.

Channels themselves do not have "Quick Keys". If you are looking for a means to rapidly jump to a channel, you'd want to use a Number Tag which you can set up in the software. From the manual:

You can assign a unique number tag from 0-999 to each system and to each channel within a system. This tag allows you to rapidly tune to a specific channel.

To jump to a tagged channel from HOLD mode, enter the system number tag followed by a decimal point then the channel’s number tag, then press [MENU]. The scanner goes to Scan Hold Mode at the entered number tag.
