If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hytera HP605 radio- a few questions

I have a Hytera HP605 DMR radio but I have not yet sorted out the programming lead (PC152) or software.

I've checked out the Hytera HP605 User Manual but its not that helpful!!

There are only 2 programable side keys on the HP605. Are these multi-function keys ie short press, long press, double press etc... so its possible to program a number of functions?

I want to be able to program:

- high/low power
- scan
- scan nuisance delete
- zone up/down
- squelch open/adjust (for analog)

Is it possible to program the above with only 2 programmable keys?

Is there a Menu Option as an addition or alternative to using programable keys?

How many alpha tag characters can fit in the OLED display... it can fit "Hytera"..so its at least 6? I guess 8 would be useful to fit in, say, "146.5200"

Is it possible to program a HP605 using Bluetooth rather than a programming cable and can this be enabled without initially switching it on using a programming cable? This was briefly mentioned on a HP605 You Tube video but I've seen no mention anywhere else.

Thanks

Thanks for the link.

I'm wondering if I should avoid V3.0 CPS and firmware and maybe use V2.6 (or whatever) to avoid the issues mentioned in the link?

My HP605 is currently running F/W A2.4.02.007 so I guess V2.6 CPS should work OK?
