To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a couple of new Hytera radios and 12 old PD705LT that i want to program to work together. Problem is the PD705LT were bought second hand and all have passwords set when trying to read the data in the Hytera CPS.

Is there any way to download the config so i can program to the 2 new radios?

Hi,

Using V9 CPS

Thanks
Unfortunately, you need to be more specific on the Hytera CPS version number, !

It is one of those rare situations with Hytera software, each specific CPS for each specific Firmware in the radios...

I hope your detail is resolved..

Hello W4ADC;
Did you solve your problem? If not, i might help you. You did not mention your firmware version. Anyway there is a tool named flashburn for hytera radios. Unfortunately sharing such tools on this forum is forbidden i think. But you can find it online ;)
1. Download and install flashburn
2. Read "user_defined" data. The result should be approximately 15-16Mb(You need programming cable for this)
3. Send that file to me. I am going to brute force and try to find your pass or reset it.
Hello @0xFF1E071F , i have Hytera PD565 with firmware version A7.06.02.000. I am trying to use flashburn4 but when i click on target configuration connect it just closes the app... Cable is set on DL. Could you provide me steps how to read user data so i can provide to you?
P.S I cant use messages, so i believe this info is revelant for everybody here.

@deanhod, with a proper upgradekit or terminal batch upgrade kit you can upgrade your radio. It will reset the codeplug data, so they say everything will gone also passwords.

Good morning friends,
In my experience with Hytera radios that ask for a password to be read, to do a Reset via the same CPS Software, it is not possible on the radios that have very new firmware on them, in my case HP6 Series and PD7-9 series, these are the radios that I service the most at the moment, ...
On the Radios with the first Firmware or previous or older ones than of 9.00 version of PD series and than of 2.00 version of HP series, I think that if it is still possible, I have already done it too.

Best Regards Friends

So you have upgraded your HP-series radio to firmware 2.6 and the pw gone right? And what did you do with CPS?

That was Great, good and real experience, talking about how difficult Hytera radios suddenly are, in more ways than one

And, reading my recent notes from February 2, I wrote in my service notes that it was not possible to reset the HP606 and HP686 radios with a password with their respective CPS, if they had firmware version A1.6.02.003, A1.7.01. 004, V2.0.04.008, All in Region SA6...
