yes, ur missing 155.910...which is the channel you will hear responses from the officer's on....norristown dispatch, as you know communicates to the trooper's using 155.670 like u said u already have. Remember, VHF system, which is the one utilized by psp philly(until starnet finishes its transition) is a "line of sight" system, meaning depending on how much terrain, buildings, trees..etc.are between u and the officer who is transmitting, you may hear only norristown dispatch...and not the officer's response. Depending on where u live, you will be able to hear certain transmissions by psp, i know where i live...i am incapable of ever hearing an of the action by psp on i-95...usually i get 476 and sure-kill expsy radio traffic, as well as 422...check out the PA state police frequency page in the database..

That is the busiest one for sure but there is activity on the others. 154.905 has traffic now and then with air units in the philly area but it is only every month or 2.

Tac 1 (155.460) is definitely the standard car to car channel for routine PSP responses in this area.
Mobile to Mobile (154.755) is used for car to car and car to dispatch comms on big responses or in areas where coverage is poor on the dispatch channel. Tac 3, Tac East, and Tac West are mostly used for narcotics work. Tac 2 (151.490) is not used in this area much...presumably because there is a licensed user in the Lansdale area (a septic pumping service). I know I have heard the helo or plane complain in the past about interference issues when using Tac 2 down here. Tac 2 is often used for aerial speed traps in other areas of the state. Around the state, Tac 1 and 2 seem to be the most often used for routine comms and speed traps while the others are used mostly for special operations. Mobile to Mobile seems to serve as a secondary to the main dispatch channels as well as an incident coordination channel since it is accessible by the dispatch points (which don't have the ability to talk on the tac channels).

Wow units on 155.46 must be strong. One day I heard it all the way from Pine Hill/Gloucester Twp, NJ. Units were on 95 in Philly on traffic detail.

You were probably hearing the aircraft rather than the ground units. "Trooper Two to the ground units...."

They very rarely do any aerial traffic enforcement in Philly or on the nearby interstates (76, 676, 476, 95). Airspace is very congested because of Philly International.

I'm fairly sure no aerial units or helicopters were involved as this was during a traffic detail for the funeral procession of one of the fallen Philadelphia police officers. I didn't know thats what it was at the time until I turned the news on when I got home. But they were ground units shutting down I-95, I guess somewhere near Center City. Now that I think about it, I also remember hearing them in Deptford one time on 155.46 and the units were near the Sports Complex. Being right across the river from Jersey I guess I could see that now.

If they were near the sports complex remember that the Girard pt bridge will buy you some real TX distance due to it's height.

True. Hey, since we're talking about I-95 Philly I always wondered if any philadelphia PD units respond on 95 for MVA's and incidents. If so will I hear them on their precinct talkgroup, or T-Band? Is the same true for I-76/676 and the Boulevard Extension?

X26, X27, X28 as of now are the I-95 Delaware Expressway Cars but they only make vehicle stops, PSP handles MVA's, DV's and has jurisdiction on I-76,I-95 & 1-676.

The city plans on closing the 92nd District (Fairmount Park) and will be moving X26, X27, X28 from I-95 over to patrol Lincoln Dr., Kelly Dr. etc and the Fairmount Park Rangers will handle inside the Park.

X11 Patrols the Penrose Ave/Platt Bridge and 26th Street.

X12, X13, X14, X15, X16 Patrol Route 1/Roosevelt Blvd & Expressway from I-76 to ?
X21, X22, X23, X24, X25 Patrol Route 1/Roosevelt Blvd From ? to Poquessing Creek and Route 63 Woodhaven Expressway.

Traffic Unit-Expressway Patrol ride T-Band (TG 400) Zone A & B

PSP Belmont use 155.67/155.91 Disp 154.755 M&M 155.46 TAC1, 151.49 TAC 2 PL186.2 & 155.4750 CS National Police. They monitor T-Band and can patch into all PPD Talkgroups and identify as State Police ##, Philadelphia ## or PSP ##

Fairmount Park Commission Rangers ??? Heard they use Nextel.
