For the last couple hours I have noticed with the current program, the scanner will occasionally stop and show a talk group from Pasadena, as well as Pomona Blue which is what I wanted. When I say occasionally I mean maybe twice an hour, and the audio is mostly gargled noise, I can barely make out bits and pieces. Why am I hearing stuff from Pasadena with only the pomona frequencies programmed. And why when I put the scanner on manual, set to the control channel is the %xx always so low and unstable?

If you use Win96 to program the scanner, try installing the following file.

PomonaICIS.p96

Put the Pro-96 in manual mode on each of the control channels. If none of them has a reliable signal decode rate, that is the reason why it is not monitoring the Pomona Cell very well.

Pomona PRO96 set up & Pasadena 477 freq

use this set up on your Pro 96 >>>> BASE 470.00625 >>>OFFSET 4096 >>>STEP 6.25 and hers the KEY INPUT MUST >>>select MOT 9600 CC (use the custom table with the numbers i listed +++DONT USE the MOT 3600 ) it works great for me especially on PASADENA SITE ****** also the OFFSET 4096 is the magic number ) enjoy

Ok thanks guys, here is where am at, I have programmed the numbers that you have posted. The results are still the same. I'm starting to believe that I can't reliably monitor this system from my location, I just can't understand why? I was trying to get this working before I put numbers into the other scanner but just for kicks I plugged this programming into the 2096 that is connected to a cheap base antenna on the chimney. Things did slightly improve, but still not getting Pomona. Bank 0 has the six Pomona frequencies with the custom table from above, Bank 1 has the Pasadena site with same values in the table. The decode % from the control channels on both banks is still very unstable, constantly changing from 0 to 70 sometimes 80 on the base unit and 0-40 sometimes 50 on the mobile. I believe this is my problem but like I said, I don't understand it. I did previously mention that standard 800mhz trunk systems and edacs that I monitor decode solid 99% all the time with any antenna. Why so much trouble with this ICIS?

I'll make this short and sweet.

I've been able to successfully monitor the Pomona cell as far east as Rancho Cucamonga with a Pro 96/2096.
Use the information on the ICIS P25 Wiki page and program your scanners using Win96 (30 day trial). This is exactly what I did to achieve successful monitoring of the Pomona cell (And Pasadena for that matter). Also, it's a good idea to 'space' out your control channels. i.e., Put a "FM" freq (I use 1300.000) between each "MO" control channel (I have Pomona and Pasadena in the same bank ;)).

I hope this helps. :)

I'll keep keep it short and sweet too..... thanks everyone for your suggestions, as well as your time. I have tried the exact programming you sugest with no luck. Sometimes free advice is worth what you paid for it.
