I know I am getting one no matter what. My Icom A25C picks up the twr & gnd here in CLE when sometimes, my Uniden BCT15X hooked up to a Taco D5076 antenna misses those transmissions. It is a true testament to Icom’s sensitivity. specs don’t lie.

$450 to 500 USD is not very competitive price point. Too high for aviation and am band only. I am happy its not focused on digital, but the price point has to be lowered to be competitive. Before anyone starts I like ICOM and currently own 4 different icom handhelds including a r30.

Patiently waiting for others to compare/contrast against BC125AT, R30, R6...etc.

* I can read the specs. Looking for A/B evaluations.

The one thing that caught my eye in the Sensitivity specs were measurements of 0 dBu or less. You don't often see that on receivers of this class.
I don't even understand those measurements. 🤷🏾‍♂️

FWIW - The R15 Basic Manual, The R15 Advanced Manual, and the R15 CI-V Reference Guide are now available on the Japanese ICOM website. I downloaded the English Versions but there are other language versions as well. The manuals look very similar to the R30 manuals but obviously, the R30 parts have been removed.

The Basic and Advanced Manuals are available on the ICOM US site but the CI-V is not there.

To be clear it seems like -8 dBμ convert to near 0.4 µV. I remember the Icom R30 tested near 0.11 µV in VHF sensitivity in what I'd listen to. Be interesting to see how real life performance would be.

Am waiting on HRO reply to my email to see how big the list is for pre orders. If it’s low, I’ll go for it. Palmerjrus, did you get the new uniden scanner?

I put it in my Amazon cart then Amazon suddenly said unavailable and they're trying to obtain more units.

HRO’s site has not been updated in a while. It states that the IC-R15 has not been certified by the FCC.

I think it's almost certainly been FCC certified otherwise Icom wouldn't have released the manuals online, that suggests to me it's close to arriving here in the US.
