FM trap filter? I used one and it does improve reception up into the railroad bands.

Have you tried comparing them on the weaker NOAA NWS frequencies?

162.550 MHz is a weak scratchy signal here.

All three radios seem to be about equally sensitive.

Been monitoring 322.550 MHz this morning (weak signal) on my IC-R30 and ID-52A.

Not seeing any difference re sensitivity between the two radios.

My AR-DV10 on the other hand is noticeably less sensitive.

That’s interesting. I scan AM VHF 118 to 135, and AAR freqs. My R30 is long gone, the screen was very difficult to see for me.

Mine appears to be working fine, it had the latest firmware already installed.

On the verge of pulling the lever over at Amazon where I have Amazon credits to burn plus I get 5% back on the purchase with my Amazon credit card. The supplier seems to be Police Scanner Outlet.

I got mine direct from Uniden, free shipping and no sales tax. Got it in three days.

Seems like no retailer here in the U.S or overseas has any Icom IC-R15's in stock, including eBay. Marketing ploy???

When I started this thread 8 months ago, little did I know that it would generate well over 300 responses. I started the thread because I had found information about a new Icom handheld communications receiver. Without looking closely at the specs, I speculated that it might be a replacement for the IC-R30. Of course, that turned out to not be the case and my own speculation was refuted within about 20 posts.

And, like many new radios announced by Icom, the announcement preceded availability by several months. The radio's price, availability, and performance were unknown at the time of announcement. That lead to speculation. And, like a lot of speculation regarding announced products, much of that speculation was based more on hope than on fact or logic. Eight months later, we still don't know a lot of things that we'd like to know.

Much of this speculation and hope will be assuaged when radios get into the hands of users and product reviewers. As near as anyone can tell, the radio has not yet arrived at U.S. dealers. The reasons why are unknown and subject to more speculation. In my opinion, the radio will be here when it gets here ("here" = U.S.A.)

As the thread starter, I'm going to be blunt. Posting in this thread just to post is pointless. Posting speculation only fuels the fire of more speculation. Posting about other radios is off topic. If you have hard information about the radio's price, availability, and performance, fire up your keyboard. But, if you are just guessing, theorizing, or worrying, maybe sit back and wait until that hard information comes to light.

Thanks for posting the videos. Let’s hope it ships soon so I read reviews from you folks getting it first. I jumped on the Uniden 160 for now. Most likely getting this one unless reviews are bad. Doubt it being a Icom product.

The ICOM R30 is a touche subject to many people. It receives vhf extremely well with the ability to record transmissions and uses Bluetooth. So any mention of any kind of replacement or possible replacement is very welcoming.

Okay folks. I ordered one from Italy, it is getting shipped tomorrow. The owner of this company said Icom sent him only one unit, he said Icom has been slow in delivering this product. Hoping HRO does not get just one. $461 with $32 shipping FedEx.
It even has the serial number of the unit in the receipt.

I downloaded the IC-R15 specs. from Icom USA as well as Icom Europe, identical specs except for FM broadcast 88 - 108 here in the US and 76 - 108 in the European version.
Also, the dimensions and weight were in metric, everything else is the same.

Just be aware that the US divisions of radio gear manufacturers might not accept a radio obtained from a foreign source re warranty/repair issues.
