Normally, DX Engineering in Ohio carries all ICOM products, but so far they haven’t listed anything about the R15. That’s where I bought my R30s.
but sometimes it's sooner than what Icom says.I checked with Radioworld.ca.. They called Icom and they said to expect it in Canada mid-May.
It will take a few firmware updates before things get better. Just like the other uniden scanners. I’ll wait for those to come out and users confirm it works before I decide. Am covered for now. There were some not good reviews of the new Unidens. I think it was deafness and lots of squelch breaks...?

Mine appears to be working fine, it had the latest firmware already installed. That's why I'm holding off for now on purchasing the BCD160DN.
Looked at this before and looking again. Take a look at the specs of the 52a and the R15. Its almost better to get the 52a with more modes. I had a 52a and sold it due to neutered as some modes are not in all bands. Regret it now. Of course it costs more though.
ID-52A | Products | Icom America.
I didn’t find the ID-52 particularly sensitive on air bands, compared to the R30. The R15 might be a different story and I’d wait until the reviews and price is finalized before jumping on board.
FM trap filter? I used one and it does improve reception up into the railroad bands.I just asked if anyone has tried a FM trap filter? seems its very sensitive. Am still tempted to get one since I have a filter for my discone.
Have to contact HRO with my CC for the cancellation.
Have you tried comparing them on the weaker NOAA NWS frequencies?Been monitoring 322.550 MHz this morning (weak signal) on my IC-R30 and ID-52A.
Not seeing any difference re sensitivity between the two radios.
My AR-DV10 on the other hand is noticeably less sensitive.
