Will definitely be buying one when they arrive here in the US🙂
I’m not sure if I will get one. Will wait for folks to get them in hand. Then read there opinions. My R30 covers everything this new receiver covers. But with no P25 decode, could be more sensitive. Wish Icom would get it fcc certified and post a release quarter.

I might wait a few weeks though I'll definitely be getting one.

I kinda collect the IC-R# series of handheld Icom receivers, only lack the IC-R1 and IC-R7 (which wasn't on the marketplace for very long).

I’ll wait for your review comparing it to the R30. If it ever gets released in the USA. Has anyone check the fcc website that covers new radios to see if this is under review?

The IC-R15 is going to be released in the US, read somewhere the release date is Spring 2024. Don't know if it's been passed by the FCC yet though.

Tried searching the fcc web site. If I am doing it correctly, the last product from Icom getting approval was last spring. Maybe someone else knows how to use the fcc site to search.

I’ll be curious to see how it performs for railroad stuff. The R30 was the gold standard for VHF railroad comms, and I see the R15 specifically mentions railroad listeners as a target audience a few times. Yes, NXDN would be nice, but it’s not necessary for 99% of railroad listening.

I will be surprised if Icom or Uniden makes any profits on there new handhelds coming out. Unless they plan on releasing paid upgrades to make these radios better.

I can't imagine any large multinational not doing their research and bringing a product to market that won't make a profit for them, even if it isn't a massive profit.

Ludicrous statement. If you disagree, please provide facts to substantiate your statement. Less than that, refrain from posting ridiculous conjecture.

Wait, wait, wait...you typed "I will be surprised..." Okay, that is a statement that seems pretty accurate based on posts you have made in the past. I have a feeling most others would not be surprised if a profit is made.
