That's my interest in the IC-R15, military aviation😀...
Yes but just like bc125, iCom cut Mil Air on R15 at 380.xxx

R15 = 275.000~380.195MHz, it has to compete with UBC126 AT (AUS/NZ), BC125 XLT (UK) to get to full 400.xxx for Mil Air

New Uniden 160DN covering continuous 25 to 512 MHz + DMR "capable" do they mean out of the box or paid additional $$$ for DMR ?
I think we need to see some reviews on both before pulling the trigger

What's your source for the IC-R15 being cut at 380.xxxMHz?

someone commented on one of the reviews that it is not continuous from 108 to 500 MHz
I copied the range from this review, R15 = 275.000~380.195MHz
Looking at the Japanese specs it is more or less continuous, apologize for the confusion

127.000 108.000 ~ 136.995
140.000 137.000 ~ 143.995
145.000 144.000 ~ 146.000
156.300 146.005 ~ 221.995
300.000 222.000 ~ 382.695
400.000 382.700 ~ 429.995
433.000 430.000 ~ 440.000
470.000 440.005 ~ 500.000

and this from the brochure, small insignificant gaps here
108.000~253.795MHz
255.000~261.995MHz
266.000~270.995MHz
275.000~380.195MHz
381.325~411.995MHz
414.400~500.000MHz

They are the specs for the Japanese version. All recent Icom receivers for the Japanese market have these gaps. Not sure why, but I can only assume that listening to whoever uses those frequencies is not allowed.

I once looked at the specs for the Japan version of the R6, and it had tons of gaps all over, unrelated to the unblocked US analog cell range. It looked awful. Just wait for the official US specs.

Maybe if everyone interested in the new receiver send a message to Icom asking when it will get released, might get them moving a bit faster.

Patience, patience Icom said Spring 2024, which officially starts about two weeks from now😁...

No one wants to get their hands on this latest Icom radio more than me😁...

Did you buy one of the new uniden radios? Maybe spring starts different in Japan. Can’t wait for a side by side comparison of Icom and uniden new handhelds.

Not yet, checking online suppliers and the're all out of stock.

I will be buying the Icom IC-R15, might end up with the new handheld Uniden too😀...

The last thing I need is another radio, but that's never stopped me so far😁

When the R15 gets to the USA, and we know the details, will decide then if I will get one. Hoping the cost is reduced like the new unidens. Plus I will wait for your review.
