If you have your CTCSS on, you won't hear the digital signal. If your hearing a digital signal, you will know. You won't be able to stand it and will want to lock the channel out.
I Would suggest scanning the 154-156 range for a bit and see what you come up with see
If you recongnieze the dispatcher or the dispatch center city name in the traffic call.

I heard traffic on 155.640 last night. From time to time you may not hear anything due to staffing. Last weekend no one was off, so for the rest of week there was less troopers.

May have figured it out. Been running a 6" rubber duckie in the past and everything was good. Then, IHP disappeared. Went to the 9" duckie and IHP came in weak. I tend to believe that the local repeater went down. Now researching better antennas.
