If you were watching a movie and wanted to be disturbed as little as possible, which frequency or frequencies would you set your scanner to monitor?

I'd set my APX to the local fire dispatch channel that's assigned to the QCII profile for my town's tones, muted until alerted, of course. Can't get much quieter than that. :giggle:

In all seriousness, I'd have to agree with GTR. I usually just park it on my local FD only.

since i live in Florida, this is just for the idea...

the counties trunked input frequencies,
with the attenuation turned on,
squeclch all the way up
and the antenna off
...they have to be in the room for me to hear them
at that point it would be important enough for the interruption.

That's usually what I do too. Although here in West Orange there is a medical call about every 5-10 minutes so that gets pretty annoying.

I used to monitor the town fire channel or scan the fire and EMS dispatch channels. Now that fire and EMS toneouts for the entire county are on a single page only frequency I set the scanner to "tone alert" so all I hear are toneouts
