For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Odds are that it will be back...

The TERMN-8R is now sort of back.

Amazon, as we all know, ceased offering it sometime on Monday, April 20, but AnyTone Tech, via their Web site, is now selling it directly via PayPal payment - which I guess means that AnyTone Tech will be directly shipping out product from their "warehouse" in Arlington, South Dakota, to the purchaser.

I can't help but wonder what sort of notification Amazon sent to AnyTone Tech when they (Amazon) dropped it (the TERMN-8R) from their (Amazon's) Web site.

Meanwhile, the OBLTR-8R is still being offered for sale via Amazon, with Amazon fulfilling the orders.

It may be the other way around, AnyTone Tech may have pulled their product from the Amazon website.

That is certainly within the realm of possibility, but why would they do that?

As it appears now, AnyTone Tech would be accepting payments through PayPal and then shipping directly to the customer, and if so, what return address would they be using on the packaging?

When Amazon was fulfilling the orders, the return address would have been one of Amazon's many warehouse locations. What would be the return address now? The street address of the U.S. Post Office in Arlington, South Dakota?

Maybe I should order one just to find out.

They're just doing the same with NA orders as they have been doing with ROW orders from the beginning. Direct sales and invoices via paypal. I bought my BF-F8HP the same way. And the adress is ARLINGTON, SD 57212, according to the tracking number i recieved. It should arrive in a few days, i'll take a few pics before i rip it apart. Return adress has to be there.

Part 90 is Valid Then

I had a very interesting discussion with an Anytone (Qixiang) rep yesterday before ordering my 398UVD.

I was told by her (I think. The name sounded vaguely feminine to me.) That AnyToneTechs Termn8r used the 398UV model as a base. Not just the case but the internals as well. Apparently the Termin8r isnt a 3318 thrown into a 398 case. And those are two completely different designs. I seriously doubt a electrical redesign goes under FCCs permissive change policy. Then how is it that the 3318 FCC ID is legal to use? I reckon its not.

So you have actually now clarified that the Part 90 is valid on the 8R radios: https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/tcb/repo...de=&application_id=593484&fcc_id=T4K-QZQX3318

The Part 90 ID is T4K-QZQX3318; the Test report for T4K-QZQX3318 lists the 398UVD as the same model:
"Series Model: 398UV, 938UV, 318UV, 518UV, 3208UV
Difference description: All the same except for the model name and appearance."

Having owned the 3318UVD and TERMN-8R myself I can verify they are indeed the same radio; but the TERMN-8R has cleaned up the firmware (biggest change is being able to remove channels from memory banks without a computer; and the different radio boot modes) - definitely allowed under the Permissive change policy

To see the same information from the lab test for the Part 90 approval go to: OET -- FCC ID Search

Search for 'T4K' & '-QZQX3318' go to Summary and click the link for the lab test.

The Part 90 label is irrefutably valid now - but no matter what it will be assumed that some here will not listen to the facts.

Interesting - if the tracking has actually shipped from Arlington, SD 57212 - than no matter what the return address is (they could be operating in a trailer home as far as I'd care) - they obviously have an employee or location in Arlington, SD.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was a small operation:
Radio-Mart.net is run by Marty a one man show
Wouxun.us is run by Ed a one man show
Baofengradio.us is run by the Arabs - Abduraham (Adam) Ravat owner
Radioddity.com is run by the Chinese - Damon Chong owner

And we act surprised that anytonetech.com is a small operation? As far as I care along with the businesses listed above - they have to be small to allow for the low prices we scream for in the 'budget and entry level transceivers'

Either way if they are actually shipping items from Arlington, SD it validates their location claim.

When you say Radioditty.com is run by "the Chinese" and Baofengradio.us is run by "the Arabs", do you mean they are run from mainland China and Saudi Arabia, or by a Chinese person and Middle Eastern person in the US?

when a product is no longer available, it still shows the product and says "currently unavailable" or something to that effect. But this doesn't say that. The product page is not there, there's no reviews or anything. It's like it never even happened. Possibly the FCC contacted Amazon.

When Amazon was fulfilling the orders, the return address would have been one of Amazon's many warehouse locations. What would be the return address now? The street address of the U.S. Post Office in Arlington, South Dakota?

Whatever it is, count on it being difficult to trace back to the person in charge for the common person because now that it's a violation of federal law to sell the radios, they're not going to be any more transparent than before. They have a lot of guts to continue selling it even now that the FCC is clearly on their trail.

And something tells me Anytone tech is located in Grand Junction Colorado.

The Part 90 label is irrefutably valid now - but no matter what it will be assumed that some here will not listen to the facts.

No attestation letter or separate grant for the 8rseries radios.
Still not compliant with part 90.
But if you want to keep telling yourself that it is legal to help yourself sleep at night, by all means, please do so.

I don't know where you started reading but here's a good start...
http://forums.radioreference.com/bu...g-tech-deliberately-misleading-consumers.html

The issue NEVER WAS that it's a one-man band or that it is home based.
The issue was that they are deliberately concealing their identity and lying about their address (initially it was posted his website as 110 S. Main street) for reasons that are now clear. He doesn't want to be found by the FCC.

But I have a suspicion Anytone Tech isn't in south dakota. I get the notion its in Grand Junction colorado.

Without a doubt Radioditty.com (sainsonic.com/sainstore.com/ sainsmart.com and some fat loss machine website) are run and owned by the Chinese with most of their employees Chinese (the English on their product descriptions is the first red flag). Along with the Sain Store Offices located in Dongguan China: CONTACT | SainStore

Baofengradio.us is run with ties to the UK and the middle east - with a US location. Either way both of these businesses are squirrelly too.

Well since the 8RSERIES literally looks like a 398UVD and another poster confirmed the factory said it was a 398UVD chipset. There is no reason to apply for a separate grant if it is a model number change with the same hardware. (Like the many case and name changes for the Baofengs)

Do you have current information that proves otherwise? I noticed the 3318UVA and 3318UVE are not listed on the Part 90 grant - shouldn't there be a witch hunt against wouxun.us? Not only that but the 3318UVE uses a different antenna and different chipset for the tri-bands - but yet I am certain those are 'permissive changes' because wouxun.us is not the one you are on a witch hunt after.

But I have a suspicion Anytone Tech isn't in south dakota. I get the notion its in Grand Junction colorado.

Of course you would - you have ignored many facts and screamed you point endlessly; as a reader I couldn't bare any more of your hidden agenda whatever it is. Whether you are a vendor with a vengeance or a troll who manipulates information to your fancy - a poster just said he had a radio with tracking from Arlington, SD and yet you have another conspiracy theory.

With such posters as you - I wouldn't give out my home address either; but I didn't realize that was shady to want to have privacy?

Well damn, looks I got screwed by the Anytone rep. I was specifically told that the 398UV is a "new" and "completely redesigned radio" compared to the 3318UV, or I would've bought that one, which is cheaper...

Well, you might be correct, Part 90 could be valid, but considering the FCC Approval you linked just blew everything she said to kingdom come, I'm seriously doubting the validity of her statements. And by extension my own comment.

EDIT: I'm officially recognizing that I might be full of ****e since I received questionable information from the Anytone rep...

Not only that, but your shipment is an "international letter" not a parcel according to the screen shot. First class mail? Uh huh.

If we had the actual tracking number we can get more detail...

If you are in Sweden, what does FCC approval matter at all? The FCC does not have jurisdiction where you claim to be, so all of this is a non-issue for you.

Of course, your local regulating authorities are a different story.

That's the tracking number I got from BaofengTech. Nothing I can do about that. And i'm not going to post the tracking number, which is directly tied to me and my address, on a public forum. I'd be perfectly willing to take a few pictures of the packaging, mainly the return address if that's something you'd be interested in. However, you'd have to wait a few days until it arrives.

It is a non issue, but I spoke to an AnyTone rep at length and I though I'd share what I learned. Just trying to be helpful. but alright, my bad. Don't worry, I wont make that mistake again.

Of course, your local regulating authorities are a different story.

Lets keep the PTS out of this allright? Those morons managed to accidentally make every radio manufactured after 2007 illegal. No matter the brand or model. All of them. They wont come after anyone as long as the radio is CE approved. The PTS technical certification has been waived.

What about item four in the FCC dismissal letter where it says, "The User's manual indicates that this device can operate on Part 90 frequencies. This is not shown in either of the Grants. This device does only have enough significant digits in its programming capability (even with the frequency offset function) or display to enter many of the part 90 frequencies. This is non-compliant."?

Doesn't that invalidate the Part 90 acceptance?

Well the letter from the FCC is a "dismissal" not a "denial" it even states in the letter to correct issues before re-applying otherwise it could turn into a denial - they dismissed Part 95 and not Part 90 - the Part 90 is still live on the FCC database.

And as for not enough digits for Part 90 frequencies - apparently the FCC doesn't do much work checking into that statement - all Anytones have 6 digits with the "25, 50, 75" indicators - for the lab or TCB body to prove that will be quite easy.

The radios are not compliant with part 90 rules and regulations. Until they make them so they cannot be programmed from the radio, the radio will not comply with part 90. I know you want very much to believe that it isn't so, and I hate always being the one to break people's hearts. But it's not part 90 compliant and any other previous grants for FPP radios will soon come under the microscope if they haven't already.

The radios can be set to be 'software programmable only' to be in line with the requirements of Part 90 (for commercial users (Amateur users can use these all day long as long as they are actually certified) - just like the AnyTone 3318UVD, Wouxun 8D, and Baofeng Uv-82C that have keypad or software only modes. You better go after buytwowayradios.com (Woxun dealer), wouxun.us (Anytone dealer), and Amazon.com for selling these as well...

Like I mentioned previously it seems you have a personal vendetta on the 8R radios
