Is the CTCSS/DCS search-able on a conventional frequency or do you just have what is in the database?
If a channel has CTCSS/DCS info in the database, the channel will be imported with that data. Otherwise, the channel will be created with "Search" enabled.[/quote]

If it has a search mode for this how would you save it if there is only a few buttons on the front of the radio? Is it in the menu system? I'm only seeing reference to CTCSS/DCS in the preliminary manual.

If it's searching, there isn't any way to "store" any found CTCSS/DCS data (apart from entering that data in the PC software).

You can browse to and monitor any of the talkgroups you've imported (analogous to "manual mode" on the PSR-500).
Don please post how I been telling people you can not do this.

From the Main menu, select "Browse Objects". Navigate to the desired object (talkgroup). Press the Play/Pause/Select button once. You're now monitoring that talkgroup. If you press Play/Pause/Select again, you're "scanning" (all enabled playlists).

Odd... Just received an email notification notification of a new post, but the post isn't here.

However, the post itself contained an error that bears correcting, in case others have the same concern:

I took a long hard look at the pro 107 and decided not to buy it. It does not show the frequencies on screen just the ID.
By default, the scanner does not display any numeric information for received transmissions (e.g. talkgroup ID, frequencies, CTCSS/DCS values). This is by design, given the target market.

If that information is desired, it can easily be turned on by setting the Main Menu's "Simple Display" item to OFF.

When I went to the RS store at the mall to get credit for the iScan I ordered from the warehouse (I had picked it up at another local store that had it in stock), the manager at the mall store said he would return the iScan to the warehouse because "they do not have room for more scanners" and "they can be bought online". Bear in mind that I did not even open the box on this one because it was in RS posession the whole time. So, they have no other iScan units in the store for stock, and they are sending the one back to the warehouse that I just returned......UNBELIEVABLE. I guess they only care about selling cell phones after all.

Mainly because that's what makes the profit. If you'll notice "The Shack" commercials are 99% Cell phone this year. You won't see an iScan on TV, however I find it interesting that the manager wouldn't keep the 107 in stock long enough to get a word of mouth sale or another store that needs one in the district. After all, next week is Black Friday. Anyone plan to pick one up then? There are no scanners in the ad for next week, but I wonder if there will be an unannounced sale? I just read a post that coupons for $15 in store/$25 on-line are being sent to homes.

On another note, I see that the iScan has no belt clip. I wonder if RadioShack intends to sell a case of if any third party is working on one yet?

Well anyone that wants one who lives in Indiana can type in "47807" to the find in store and it will show where I took mine back, its listed as "In Stock". Looks like this is the only one in Indiana.

You'll be glad you did. And as DaveIN said, it's fine on UHF and VHF too. I leave mine on all the time. But if you travel, bring the original one with you in case you need to pick up something on VHF Low.

Or, be more stealthy at the mall. :D

I work at the RS in League City, TX. We got two in last Friday. A customer purchased one before I could get a demo up and after helping the customer get his going I bought the second one. I love it! I've owned most of the RS scanners at one time or another and I must say I'm really impressed with this one. Our stock records show I have five more in-transit. The provided software is a little rough around the edges but I'm sure it will improve. It took me about 5 minutes to get it programmed the way I like. It has my thumbs-up!

Sanity check...

Could someone who has purchased a PRO-107 try the following... turn the unit ON and, while the "welcome" message is displayed, press the MENU key. What version number is shown for "uP App Ver" ? (I expect "RF1.1").

What were the software issues that you think should be changed?
