The really bizarre thing is that I've seen (in my days as a MAX operator, then MAX supervisor, and a bus driver before that) and heard (in my days as a Rail Controller) so many things that you wouldn't believe -- and the dumb asses think it's just perfectly normal. .

I dont want to hijack the thread, but a few months ago I was riding MAX home from work late one night (midnight-ish) and the inspectors were out with a guy at Elmonica who had his pitbull on the train. LOOONG story short, he started getting into it with another group and was about to start fighting. The inspectors 1) had no weapons 2) obviously had no basic self defense training and 3) had ZERO control of the situation - I had to jump in and help them keep the two groups apart. As the train left, (with one of the groups aboard) this guy (with the dog) ran after the moving train hitting the windows.... I dont know why... to "scare" the other group ?? whatever
I was just amazed that the inspectors had ZERO situational awareness. Now I dont want them to be 'rambo cop-wannabe' but come on!

PS. One funny thing I forgot, one of the inspector supervisors arrived near the end when the police were arriving, and to signal them he grabbed his (rape) wistle to make sure the PD saw where he was......a WHISTLE ?!?!?!? *sigh
