By Kennett Fire Company No. 1 March 26, 2010 Workers in part of the old NVF Plant on West Mulberry Street in the Borough of Kennett Square, caused a small fire while demolishing an old machine in the #1 tower. While cutting a pipe with a torch a small amount of liquid was released, ignited and burned. The fire was quickly extinguished but not before 1 worker suffered minor burns. All persons were evacuated till Chester County Hazmat could determine the material posed no further problems. The Company was in-service for over 3 hours.
