Thanks. Still trying to figure out P25 system. Based on info I have been researching my BCD996P2 can use just the control channels to monitor this system. I had all frequencies listed on the tower site programmed. I see if it makes a difference. Still getting hit/miss reception.

Well i monitored Lee Co testing their (EMS/FIRE) on vhf all day today and they are now back on vhf, however Sheriff still on viper. they were on viper for a couple weeks before switching back, so don't know what is going on with that, but will keep monitoring for any other changes

So, Does that mean? I should keep both, analog, and digital, systems in the scanner? In case they flip-flop, again? I thought they had come to the conclusion that a digital system would improve radio communications?

I couldn't find the original article from last year announcing the move to digital. The report recommending the move to digital, improving response times. Was done by a retired Fire Chief.

While monitoring the Tramway tower, I'm seeing TG 27011 Lee County SO CID is ENC with AES-256.

For now Lee Co SO is in the clear.

Submitted to the DB admins.

I would keep both yes because of simulcast they have done this before with (DMR) and then back to VHF/UHF so we will see viper would be their best bet, but Mabe it a tower problem not enough of them

Which sites are you scanning and what programming software are you using?
