Thanks. Still trying to figure out P25 system. Based on info I have been researching my BCD996P2 can use just the control channels to monitor this system. I had all frequencies listed on the tower site programmed. I see if it makes a difference. Still getting hit/miss reception.

Well i monitored Lee Co testing their (EMS/FIRE) on vhf all day today and they are now back on vhf, however Sheriff still on viper. they were on viper for a couple weeks before switching back, so don't know what is going on with that, but will keep monitoring for any other changes

So, Does that mean? I should keep both, analog, and digital, systems in the scanner? In case they flip-flop, again? I thought they had come to the conclusion that a digital system would improve radio communications?

I couldn't find the original article from last year announcing the move to digital. The report recommending the move to digital, improving response times. Was done by a retired Fire Chief.

While monitoring the Tramway tower, I'm seeing TG 27011 Lee County SO CID is ENC with AES-256.

For now Lee Co SO is in the clear.

Submitted to the DB admins.

I would keep both yes because of simulcast they have done this before with (DMR) and then back to VHF/UHF so we will see viper would be their best bet, but Mabe it a tower problem not enough of them

Which sites are you scanning and what programming software are you using?

I am scanning Broadway & Tramway towers. I consistently hear Fire Dispatch TGID off the Broadway tower. Have also heard City Tac 1, Lemon Springs Tac, and Northview Tac TGID’s but it has been inconsistent with receiving the Tac channels. Have 5 bars signal strength with Broadway and 3 with Tramway. Only using stock antenna. Ordered a 700-900mhz antenna. Will see if that helps.

These are channels I have heard so far:
TGID's
27007 - "Fire Dispatch"
27014 - "City Tac 1" (Sanford Fire) City Fire has 2 Tac channels. Don't know TGID for "City Tac 2" yet
27018- "Cape Fear Tac" (Lee Co. Tac 5)
27019- "Northview Tac" (Lee Co. Tac 6)
27020- "Lemon Springs Tac" (Lee Co. Tac 7)

I believe the following department TGID's are as follows but I have not confirmed yet:
27015- "Tramway Tac" (Lee Co. Tac 2)
27017- "Deep River Tac" (Lee Co. Tac 4)
27021- "Carolina Trace Tac" (Lee Co. Tac 8)
