Lee County NC Sheriff went live on VIPER today (8-25). In the next month or two you should hear Lee County Fire (including Sanford Fire) and Lee County EMS transition to VIPER. Sanford Police chose to stay on their UHF system.

Make sure you submit anything that needs to be changed on the Lee County site to the Lee County specific page. If you submit it to when you are on the Viper page, it won't be seen by a Lee county database administrator and the changes won't be done. I don't have the ability to transfer a VIPER submission to a county level database administrator. Thank you for your supportIt is talkgroup 27009. I’ve submitted to the database.
I am not in any of those counties, so. Can't ruffle my feathers. Lee is a neighboring county to mine. I activated the NXDN on my 436HP, several years ago. Because of what they were using. I never could hear it. After I received my SDS100, as an early Christmas present, a year after I was given my 436HP. I decided not to activate the NXDN. I was elated, when I found an article last year, that. Said something about a retired Fire Chief doing an analysis of the Lee County system. Saying a move to VIPER would improve response times.I am probably ruffle some feathers if I do I am sorry.
Looks like Lee/Sanford learned a lesson from trying to operate their own system.
Both Brunswick and Columbus Counties finally ditched their systems for Viper.
I give it time Henderson and Polk Counties will be ditching their NXDN system for Viper.
These counties are finally waking up and realizing that Viper is the only way to go for interoperability.
The only cost involved is the radios.
The highway patrol maintains the infrastructure, so why not jump on board.
My congrats to Lee County of the switch to Viper.
The only activity I've heard on their NXDN in the past year is COLTS, simulcast of EMS, and occasional fire tac channel activityI am not in any of those counties, so. Can't ruffle my feathers. Based on a RRDB submission, all public safety in Lee County should be primary on VIPER as of yesterday, 9-18, with the exception of Sanford PD "still using their UHF channels". Not sure if that means NEXEDGE or conventional analog.
I would like to know the answer, too.Lee County trunk question:
Which antenna site is Lee County using? Broadway/Tramway I live by Juniper Springs Baptist Church- Buckhorn Rd.
I have programmed the Broadway tower frequencies and FIRE TGID's into my BCD996P2. I have good signal strength and consistently receive Fire Dispatch. I am not hearing the different fire departments on their respective Talk Group when listening. I have tried switching to ID SEARCH when I hear a dispatch to see if I would pick up a different TGID but have had no luck. I do pick up LCSO, EMS and some Harnett County units when in ID SEARCH mode. Any recommendations?
Thanks- David Q.
