Am I the only one who enjoys attaching a small overload-prone receiver (ex: a Yaesu VR-120) to a big outside antenna and tuning through all the crazy overload?

It's like nonstop action and the wonderment of what frequency you're actually listening to. Right now on 8.900 MHz I'm hearing a sports program and the CHU time station perfectly superimposed. I've done this for as long as I can remember.

Reminds me of my Yaesu VR-5000 but there was no pleasure in using it, just constant disappointment.

Not big on listening to IMD if I can avoid it! But that said, back in the day listening to crosstalk on the phone wires was pretty cool.

I think I have to agree with RFI-EMI-GUY and yes, you may be the only one but heck, everyone needs a hobby.

Years ago I had one of these radios. Pretty nice rig. If you "cut the magik diode" it would tune everywhere. Mostly it seemed to be picking up image responses of cellphone and cordless phone calls. I would hang out at the beach and scroll through the dial and enjoy the drama of the local beach community.

Amazing how many drunk calls.
