I noticed this morning at approx 7:45 that many radios are showing a 'Burst' data call type on UniTrunker from the Byron tower. According the UT forums a Burst call is a half duplex data transmission. Seeing tons of it now... Could this be OTAP maybe? Updating radios to remove FleetNet etc... I've not seen this on any other system before. I'm running DSD+ as well on the same site and it's business as usual there.

I was looking at my DSD+ logs and noticed something for TG 3000 & 3001 with 3000 being used a lot more than 3001. I am seeing lots of RID's in the 3000xx and 30140x range but there are two outliers 730726 & 730744 which that range of RID's are in the OPP range. Edit: I checked too and non of the 3000xx or 30140x doesn't seem like has used any other TGs other than 3000 and 3001.

I am assuming both were ENC? I think 3000 was listed as in the clear?

I am going through the logs and I see more affiliations & registrations than transmissions but of the transmissions I do see, they are encrypted. Another interesting thing I noticed is that TG 2514 (MTO Enforcement Hamilton) is sometimes grouped with 3000. This has quite a few times over the past 4 or 5 months.

Is 142.335 MHz a data channel for Whitby?
I can't decode the Whitby control channel from NW Toronto, however I am getting a good signal on 142.33125 with a NAC of AD7. No channel activity nor does a site number come up as well. Watching it is like watching paint dry.

142.335 is both voice and data. it is 3rd inline for voice. It only started sending data a couple of days ago, sending tower updates for Pontypool and Niagara and for EMS/OPP.

Bell has been busy. I saw these new frequencies pop up out of nowhere.

Site 33 Tavistock 142.305 voice
Site 45 Munro 141.675 voice

Bell may be adding in additional voice freq to some sites. It wont hurt to check your local site for anything new. The same for neighbor sites.

Looks like they added 142.83 back as a voice channel on the Whitby tower and now have 142.335 as a data channel only.

I'm seeing one new frequency off Windsor, Essex, Chatham, Wardsville sites. (Will check Pelee Island, Leamington and Ipperwash tonight) Nothing extra on Sarnia, but I do have a full blast extra control channel on 142.950.
DSD shows it as Sarnia site, but nothing really shows. Gives me the neighbor list but they are blank as if i haven't typed the info in. Not showing anything in the channel activity. Loaded it up on Unitrunker and I get nothing on 142.9500

Thanks Muxlow. It would appear that Bell is adding extra voice capacity to the sites or are doing something new. I see a lot of RID's popup on the new freq which shows up as "DATA" in DSD then immediately switch to one of the voice channel slots. Monitoring the data freq I see P25P2 activity however DSD is not processing it.

I mainly see 24113-24130 has the most activity on the Hamilton Tower with a few that have a a whole bunch of hits in the 242xx range. (24233,234,236,238,243,245,267)

Watching the Simcoe and Cayuga towers and noticed that each site has 2 CC. Simcoe is 142.555 and Cayuga is 142.875. Both channels giving site info and neighbor lists. The regular control channel is still active as well.

Just a guess...but easy to provide with a tower drive by...
It's possible that they are setting up 2 radio sites at the same tower, and using directional antennas to cover different areas.
Looking at the map, it would make sense to have a north/south split.

They could have south facing antennas over Lake Erie, possibly with downtilt, which would minimize RF overspray into NY/PA/OH
Then side mounted north facing antennas, higher power levels and serving Hwy 403 and the population to the north.
In close to the tower with a scanner, you would receive both.
