This evening around 0240z I picked up Voice of Korea on 13760 for it's Spanish language broadcast to South America. The signal wasn't the best but still nice to hear them at a reasonable hour.

What station is on 9420khz @ 0425z...? I'm hearing a Spanish station with part-time music playing and a female voice.

The spreadsheet doesn't even show a Spanish station on that frequency and it's definitely not the Voice of Greece.

Any ideas?

(Yes I am listening but the lady speaks about 50 words per second, so it's nearly impossible to understand her...)

Update, I just read on Wikipedia and it seems that they give their 'bulletins' in different languages, so perhaps it is the VoG.

World Adventist Radio out of Guam at 1627UTC on 11805khz. Only a half hour transmission? They were just signing off. Yup spreasheet says 1600-1630UTC. I love those little short reaches to the world

pleasant catch-Voice of Greece!! 333UTC on 9420khz transmitted from Greece to Europe interesting Greek music tonight.

...and at 355UTC I have Cairo, Egypt!! on 9305khz transmitter in Abis, Egypt.

and the BBC broadcasting out of South Africa

and finally, Deutsche Welle broadcasting from Rwanda to Africa at 442UTC on 7240khz.

Radio Romania on 9580khz transmitted from Romania to Norh America in English. Only a 1 hour transmission. 7-9s and very wavy.

Vatican Radio on 9560khz transmitting from Madagascar to East Africa. 30 minute broadcast in English. Had to go USB and kick on the preamp for this one.

I also am logging VOA on 9855 from Madagascar to Africa-much stronger than Vatican's signal. Boy Africa is doing good tonight

Hey, on this last one - why doesn't your database indicate that the station is "ON" the air?

I checked your computer time and converted it to Zulu and it all seems to jive (very confusing with daylight savings, time zones, and Zulu conversion!) - yet your database shows it off the air.

Because the NASWA file gets "rebuilt" every few hours so ON will only show what was on when it recycles-I think it recycled at like 0100UTC and I logged this at 0328UTC and the broadcast was only from 0300-0330UTC.

Gotcha! Love the videos. Who'da thunk - 10 - 20 years ago - that it would be easier to video tape the radio to share what's heard instead of audio recording!

ERTU - Egypt Radio TV Union - Voice of Arabs, in Arabic

Signal is S9+10db easy but the signal sounds a bit muffled. Tried different filters, switching modes, etc... but it just didn't work. I think something is off at the transmit site. I suppose it could be atmospheric intereference (going thru several bounces...)

ERTU is coming in great tonight. Good conditions this evening.

9920khz-1530UTC KNLS out of Anchor Point, Alaska. Zipfile says broadcast in chinese but, pleasingly, broadcast in English..nice programming. Music from the 80s-90s, news clips inserted between songs and little SWL DX tips from an HF specialist as a bonus I hope they continue!

You got Radio Havana broadcasting to South America from a transmitter in Cuba VERY powerful signal they have, no? They gotta get the propoganda out there man!!

I'm working that African continent CVC International broadcasting from Zambia to West Africa and I got them with a measly 100,000 watts I think CVC stands for "Continental Voice of Chrisianity" or something like that.

They have a strong signal again tonight-that "muffled" voice is they are grossly overmodulated all the time. I tried sharpening it up but everything I have to throw at it just enhanced their splatter
